2018 Fantasy Draft - how does 1st round play out?
Just curious how people see it going into next year
10 team, PPR scoring, standard positions (QB WR WR WR RB RB TE FLEX)
#1 Leonard Fournette - a stud on a team that's feeding him relentlessly
#2 LeVeon Bell - team might lean on him even more if Big Ben trends down
#3 Ezekiel Elliott - hey, at least he'll only have 10 games of tread on his tires from the previous year
#4 Antonio Brown - concerned w/Ben slipping and Juju's emergence, but still head of the class
#5 David Johnson - losing a season usually drops a player's stock more than this
#6 Todd Gurley - serious talent + serious volume
#7 Kareem Hunt - losing luster since first 3 weeks, but talent undeniable + heavy workload
#8 DeAndre Hopkins - had an incredible season w/Hoyer @ QB. With a franchise QB? Sky's the limit
#9 Mike Evans - Winston shouldnt be hurt to begin next year
#10 Julio Jones - eventually, he'll become a redzone guy, right?
Near the cut: OBJ, Melvin Gordon, LeSean McCoy, AJ Green, Jordan Howard
Am I crazy for thinking Fournette is the #1 pick next year?

I think Zeke would be the consensus 1st pick (Assuming he has no suspension hanging over his head

Fournette, DJ, Bell & Hunt/Brown would likely round out your top 5/6.

if david johnson is still that high coming off an injury, where does dalvin cook fall? he had a great start, is that enough to get enough buy-in for people going forward?
first couple rounds might be too high, especially since he only got 4 games in

I got Fournette in the 3rd round in my keeper league (non-PPR). Personally I probably wouldn't touch David Johnson. Coming off a season ending injury and likely has a new QB.

Gurley would be my first pick. He has the volume opportunity combined with playing in an elite offense which will yield plenty of short TD runs. He's also explosive and catches passes.

Stop being a homer.

Gurley is the 3rd highest scorer period and the highest scoring RB - Hunt hasn't had a bye yet (and Gurley still has more fantasy points than him..), so if you take him out, Gurley is 17 points higher than the 2nd highest scoring RB (Zeke).
Considering he's (by far) the best fantasy back this year, doesn't seem too far fetched that he would be the number one pick next year.

Is that a bad thing?
No matter what DJ is going to be the center of that offense, and I think a very legitimate 1000/1000 candidate when he's healthy

Considering the lack of top tier talent at running back I could see Mixon creeping into the late first/early second round next season. Bengals just need to fire Marvin Lewis already...

I don't know. I'd still take David Johnson really high. I'll be surprised if he doesn't come back strong. Though it might depend on whether or not the still have Peterson and whether or not they ease Johnson back into the lineup.

I mean I’d still take him if he dropped to the 2nd round but I’d be really weary about taking him with a rookie QB unless the Browns passed on him.

Re: 2018 Fantasy Draft - how does 1st round play out?
I plan on doing the 2 QB/IDP league like I have the last couple of years. I know Cactus Jack also ran a traditional standard league last year with no waiver rules and stuff and some people were in both leagues.
For more detail on how the league I ran was set up, I described it here... viewtopic.php?f=139&t=1597874
It will be more competitive and require than a standard one because the rosters will be deeper with more roster spots and there may be more than 10 teams, and you can play up to two QBs, and play like 2-4 rbs or wrs.
It will be on espn.

If people prefer a Standard league. It will include a Waiver system this time around.

I'll create a separate thread on the topic.

Not at all. I've been taking Elliot and Fournette with my first two picks this year. And I have seen Fournette go as high as #2 overall 4 times so far. Imho, Elliot and Fournette both have monster years. Behind them I love Hunt and my two sleepers are Jordan Howard and Jerrick McKinnon.

Re: 2018 Fantasy Draft - how does 1st round play out?
My league is in line to move to a keeper league. One that costs the owner a draft pick in the round of the player kept. No first rounders are keeper eligible and an 8th is the lowest round to give up. I'm sitting currently in a RB quandary.
I can keep 2 of Zeke (4th), Fournette (5th), Kamara (FA =8th).
It's also a full point ppr.
Zeke and Kamara right? I worry about Fortnights injuries. Plus PPR and stuff.

Yeh I'm keeping Zeke and Kamara without a doubt, they're gonna get the workload and they're playing behind two of the strongest o-lines in the league. I'm not so much concerned with Fournette's injury issues as I am about Corey Grant eating up some his carries....dude proved last season that he deserves more snaps.

I agree with Zeke and Kamara (although I think Fournette and Kamara are close) but I don't think you can mention Corey Grant possibly taking away some of Fournette's carries without the fear of Mark Ingram doing the same to Kamara when he returns from suspension.

Sure, Kamara will probably be in a true timeshare with Ingram but with the way the Saints offense operates he'll get his fair share of touches. What really puts Kamara a top Fournette is his pass catching abilities. He caught 80+ balls last season, and I have no doubt he could replicate if not exceed those numbers this season.
I feel like people still underrate Kamara...I've seen rankings with Barkley and Hunt above him and that's just crazy. Call me crazy but I wouldn't even take David Johnson above Kamara.
