None of what you said sounds weird to me except that you aren't even married yet.

Just go see a doctor for every little thing. The healthcare is messed up in this country and I’m tired of it. People like you are a big part of the problem.

Your response was to get hammered. Get a grip

Not hammered, maybe 5-6 beers. I’ve always found it relaxing.

At age 17 you're not developing dementia, but you could be in the earlearly stages of a mental illness. Seek professional help to nip it in the bud.

In my humble and unprofessional opinion (though I do have a degree in psychology and I did work at Samaritans suicide prevention counseling for one year), it's anxiety. At night when we're about to go to bed is when we tend to let thoughts race in our head. My first recommendation would be for you to stop interacting with god shammgod. Second, I would make sure you're getting a good amount of exercise every day. Being tired will help make you go to bed early. Third, try smoking some weed (kush) and drinking some camomile tea which will help relax you. Fourth, either masturbate or get laid before going to bed. Ejaculating will set of the enzymes in your brain which will help make you tired. Tryptophan, I think. You can look it up.

You're right, not dementia, but possible beginning signs of anxiety leading to stress. Definitely should tell the family doctor and go from there.

What you describe sounds typical of anxiety symptoms. I've had similar symptoms in the past.

There are docs that don't go straight to a pills solution and try to identify root problems. They may or may not help and may try to refer you out if their methods will be ineffective... but you can typically tell in their profile what their approach is.

Drinking and certain drugs (marijuana) would likely help.

Don’t go straight for hard liquor, start with beer or wine. I wouldn’t waste money on a doctor.

He is 17 years old, please dont play around by throwing out the liquor idea. That can cause more problems, have some perspective on where the young man is at.

OP- Please do yourself a HUGE favor and start exercising regularly and get outside in nature. These should be your first two steps. While youre out in nature your mind will begin to go quiet. Its very healing. Consider using CBD oils before pharmaceuticals. Remember that you have a ton of options in life and keep an abundance mindset. Read Eckhart Tolle, he is one of the most brilliant minds of our time that can give you many answers. Youll grow from this and become stronger, trust me.

There are a lot of anit-anxiety/anti-depressants out there. Finding the right one for you can involve some trial and error. I would also consider finding a good psychologist or licensed mental health counselor (they have masters degrees, not doctorates, but can be very good too, as mine is). Sometimes having a professional listening to your problems of the day can help to provide some insight for you and, thus, a path to resolution. I've had one now for 3 years. It's great because they are an advocate for YOU.

I wish I had done that at 17. I think everyone should have a therapist ... but especially shammgod.

Yes, I have seen people go to the doc for help and the doc helps them get addicted to things far worse.

Re: the comment that he is ONLY 17, that is late in the game for drinking anyway.

To keep my mind clear I used to go for long walks in NYC, from my home on upper west side to mid east. Stop in a seafood place for Oysters and a couple glasses of Pinot. Bring something to read.

I used to go here regularly http://docksoysterbar.com/gallery

Walking, headphones, Oysters, wine, NYC.......really settled my mind. Bike riding for exercise is one of my favorites for working out, because you are outside and enjoying the sights. I rode central park 4 times weekly (now I ride NJ...blah)

If you don't have the ID for the wine, just try the walking a far distance in NYC and walk to a place with your favorite food.

I enjoy a nice spliff as much as the next guy but this right here is awful advice.

Stay away from alcohol and if you're gunna smoke weed - less is more, dont make it a daily and/or nightly habit.

You clearly have OCD, anxiety, and depression. And I know because I have the same problems. I’m just 23 and I suffer myself. In fact you’d be surprised to find out MANY people have mental illnesses. For example I went upstate a few weekends ago with a couple of seriously gorgeous girls and they spoke about their mental health, and how they’ve been seeking help, and one even takes anxiety meds. Pretty eye opening.

My tips for you, and this is what I’ve done to better myself...

Go to a gym.

Stop going for wants, and pulling for urges for satisfaction just for a quick boost. Like porn, food, don’t spend hours on your phone, and playing fornite lol. Gotta get into reality and enjoy the little thIngs in life.

Seek a psychologist, psychiatrist.

Practice mindfulness meditation. Google it, it’s something i do before anything stressful and before sleep. It seriously helps bringing you into the present time, less time thinking and being self conscience.

I realize the best satisfaction is working hard, cutting out bad habits. Stuff like studying for exams and banging out A’s, working hard at the gym/work. Really the one habit you need is to crave working hard. Brings you to the present moment and an actual positive dopamine rush when hard work pays off.

I wish you luck pal

There are some great videos on YouTube for mindfulness like Alan Watts and Eckhart Tolle. Check them out. Try some yoga and meditation.

There are so many places for you to go these days not to get some help so you can be happy and enjoy the passage of time like I do when I make fun of shammgod's youth and good looks.

I believe he has a podcast on iTunes. You can also find many of his lectures on YouTube.

EDIT: while you there, also check out Alan Watts.
