Yeah the Wolves are going to hang up the phone on that one. Fournier is a decent player but plays the same spot as Butler so he would be more of a backup and I doubt they would view him as an ideal replacement if Butler leaves. Vu is more of backup who doesn't fit todays game and Thibs wouldn't be to keen on him. They are not trading Wiggins for that much less would they be willing to throw in a first. Also why in the world would anyone think they are moving on from Towns. No they are not. That is ridiculous. If they move anyone it would be Butler as he is a free agent next summer and they could lose him for nothing, but I think they like their chances of resigning him so I don't they trade him.
I don’t think its too crazy. They might want to get out of his ridiculous contract. His contract right now is almost untradable.
I don’t know where you got “moving away from towns” I didn’t mention towns once in my post.
His contract is untradable.
It makes no sense to trade a guy like Fournier with a very good contract for Wiggins when Fournier is a far better shooter and more efficient player. I think he is actually better at defense too, which is insane, but Evan works harder.
The reason people keep saying to trade for Wiggins is “lets take a chance” on him becoming a star here. Taking a chance on a guy on a max contract who is not a star is what bad GM’s do. You take chances on guys on rookie deals, not guys on max contracts who regressed.
It’s just not worth losing cap space to take a chance on a guy who may never pan out.
