It was precisely the kind of fox-in-the-henhouse scenario that the VA’s defenders had warned against for years. Shulkin delicately tried to hold off Perlmutter’s proposal, saying the VA was already developing an in-house method of comparing its services to the private sector.

It was an offering of point and counterpoint to illustrate why good sourcing is good sourcing based on the quality of the journalists or organization, not their political orientation.

Mother Jones can be fairly called liberal. The Economist is not particularly liberal. Both organizations are legit sources of journalism.

Anyway, it was a sober offering devoid of drama that was relevant. And I agree nothing more needs to be said at this time.
