Well at least we know we will be starting off the season 1-0 and that we Celtics fans will all get a nice present on Christmas.

Glad they gave us a Raptors game right away, their fans could use a humbling.
Seriously though, that atmosphere will be insane.

Re: Celtics Schedule Thread (UPDATE: Will play Sixers on Christmas and Opening Night)
Man..that is some lazy ass scheduling by the NBA. Both games are in Boston too..could have at least made opening night in Philly..would even things out more. Why not make LeBron be there to hand the Warriors their rings also?
I understand Embiid is a monster, but the hype given to this extremely, extremely overrated Sixers team is absurd. I fee like regardless of them being in Canada, a Boston x Toronto game on Xmas day would please the NBA fans a lot more..people in America would tune in more to see that game..not sure anybody cares about a team we just dismissed in 5 without our 2 top players.

They have to hype it because thats the bed they’ve made. They can’t stop now without looking like fools.

Disappointment, I was hoping for some entertaining matchups. They could have at least had a C’s @ LA on Christmas.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Re: Celtics Schedule Thread (UPDATE: Will play Sixers on Christmas and Opening Night)
I'm pumped. I am planning to go to opening night, no way we lose. The Garden (including me) will be rocking for the long awaited Gordon Hayward return, he deserves this moment by fans.
I don't mind the Boston/Philly stuff btw, I get it. A lot of marketable and famous players on both teams. And both markets are gold for a pairing. Just don't want another Pats/Eagles SB LMAO.
At Raptors in opening week will be tough as hell, but depends on how ready for full game action Irving/Hayward are too (and Kawhi with his new team). Could be a weird game.
edit:
Raptors apparently pushed hard for a Christmas game.
Also Lebron's Lakers debut is in Portland. LMAO!!!!!!!!!

Seeing different outlets reporting our Xmas day game time. One saying we're at 3 and Houston/OKC is at 5:30 and another report says we're swapped and playing at 5:30 with Houston at 3pm. Any idea which one is correct?

Wow. We get Philly and TOR for opening week?
That's legit the entire EC contenders to be in the finals. That is going to be insane.
After such a long long layoff they hype will be unreal and honestly with TOR we're going to want to have that homecourt in the playoffs so even though it's early that's a significant game. They only traded away 2 of their players from the massive choke job team they had so hurt their confidence that they're the same old Raps and it could come up again in the playoffs.
Normally it wouldn't for professionals... but this is the same team that blew a what 15 point lead with 2 minutes to go in the fourth against LeBron? I'll never forget watching that and seeing the Raptors players all miss about 7 straight layups off offensive rebounds and still fail. It's unbelievable.

Re: Celtics Schedule Thread (UPDATE: Will play Sixers on Christmas and Opening Night)
For once, we don’t get a back to back to start the season with the second game being a season opener for the opponent. Seems like we get screwed on that nearly every year.

I just wanted a home game opener. Hayward deserves a return in front of our fans. The league definitely seems to want Boston and Philly to be a rivalry for years to come.. fine by me as we will own that ass of theirs.

We have the better culture and depth, but if they luck their way into #1 this year the balance could tilt in a couple of years. I don't mind personally what pick we end up with, so long as they don't get #1
I like to torture myself with draft generators and them with #1 is so much more painful than us with say 8th

Good assessment:
PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Cancel that NBA league Pass, boys. It is worthless this year, as they don't carry nationally televised games.
