If Durant or Kawhi want to come to Denver in 2019, I could see us opting into Millsap's deal and using his contract in a S&T.

that will depend heavily on when the option say is for Millsap, but I could see that happening. Although it would mean that we cannot go over the tax apron at that point which would mean if we keep Lyles it will be for less than I expect him to get.

Not necessarily they have limited options to replace him, so if the young guys do not step up they may opt out of his deal and sign him to a 2 year deal for less money per year.

Will we have Milsap's Bird Rights? I don't think we would. Unless we renounce Lyles we wouldn't have the cap space to re-work a deal for Milsap unless it was for the MLE or less.

They would never use Millsap's bird rights to sign him to a larger contract than he already has and I think they will make Lyles a restricted free agent. It is going to get very interesting in June next year.

I have a couple of theories with Milsap

1) if he excels this year a we at least advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs, I can see us opting in to his option. It will ensure continuity with the team and if we can work out a 3yr/$27-30M contract with Lyles we can still be under the cap. Then we can utilize Millsaps 2019 expiring money to pay Murray and Juancho as needed.

2) If he plays well but we miss or exit the playoffs early, I can see us opting out but offering him a lower contract at the $12-13M range and pursuing a bigger FA to help us advance to the next level

3) If he’s doesn’t play well ( which I don’t see happening) we opt out, pay Lyles to man the PF spot or find a FA/trade option to replace him

It sounds like Noah is going to be stretched next month. As crazy as it sounds I would not mind seeing Plumlee and Beasley traded for a real starting SF on an expiring and then bringing in Noah on a minimum deal to backup Jokic with Welsh the 3rd stringer. Noah is arguably the 2nd best passing big man in the league and he was still effective in limited minutes when he last played in NY. He can also teach Jokic a little about defense as Noah was not super athlete.

Makes sense but Malone's going to play Barton at SF, so the trade doesn't make a lot of sense. Harris, Murray, Thomas will eat all the guard minutes, keeping Barton at SF.
