I'm probably going to be the only one taking Garnett but I will go with him. I think I can build a better team with Garnett and thus he is more valuable.

In terms of accolades? Shaq.
In terms of on court impact and basketball ability?
Garnett

Not sure what special abut KG's Prime. His impact didn't translate into anything special team success wise.

Unlike most "Garnett versus," Shaq was quite the defender during this span, and Garnett doesn't blow him out of the water on that end. Combined with Shaq's offense, this is an easier decision.

Not even close. Shaq easy. Garnett has reached the “hes seen as so underrated that he has actually become overrated” stage. If you asked this question in the moment about 15 years ago everyone would laugh.

Pretty clearly Shaq. KG's peak is definitely all time level, but this is peak Shaq we're talking about here.

Shaq.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Shaq, not all things show up in stats. Shaq was bruising and dominate. Players always woke up the next day with bruises all over there bodies when trying to guard up Shaq. He was a enforcer downlow

In regular season value KG has a great case even if disregarding the games played difference, but if we're including the playoffs it has to be Shaq all day. He averaged 36ppg in the Finals over 3 years and opposing teams whole strategy had to be about stopping Shaq

Shaq was a force of nature that literally forced teams to grab as many 7 footers for hard fouls against him. To this day, I've never seen someone as frightening as prime Shaq on offense. As a fan of the early 00 Kings, it seemed that every possession that went to Shaq in the low post was either a bucket or a foul.

KG was a great dude, but not way he had prime Shaq's impact on the court.

I agree, Shaq is only winning this poll by 85%. Garnett is so overrated. If you asked this question 15 years ago, (2003), it would easily be 88% in shaqs favor.

This is getting nuts. Only peak/prime Jordan, imo, can rival peak/prime Shaq. And i'll still pick peak/prime Shaq there. This is Shaq all day errday 7 days a week.

According to your logic, Tim Duncan doesn't deserve any respect.

88% in Shaq's favor? Kids these days. In 2003 this would have easily been 105% in Shaq's favor.
