I know its August, but this feels like such a huge series. Hopefully ChaChin can give us anther strong 7-8 IP game- give our BP some more rest.

Re: Brewers @ Cubs Series Thread
If our string of current outings is any indication, I expect a tightly contested 3-1/4-2 Brewers victory and a 18-1 drubbing at the hands of the Cubbies as well.

Don’t we pretty much win all these remaining 8 against the cubs to win the division? I know we’re 3 back but 5 back in the loss column is a lot. Just feels like a long shot to win the division. Let’s just hope we can make sure the wild card game is gonna a be a home game.

It is certainly a lot to ask to win the division but in many ways they control their fate with the division more than the wild card. They have the head to head games to catch up to the Cubs but don't have any games against Wild Card contenders like the Dodgers, Phillies, Braves, Diamondbacks, Rockies. In general the Brewers chances at making the playoff has rapidly been declining.

Pretty much giving us a super slim chance for all the obvious reasons. The only one I’m disagreeing on is the starting pitching. I think Counsel needs to lean on that more as that’s the one aspect of our team that’s been consistent all year. The bullpen has had dominant stretches but also bad ones. I just don’t trust the pen anymore. Also is there any word on Jimmy Nelson? I haven’t heard much since he threw in the bullpen the other week.

We'll either be 1, 3 or 5 games behind after this series. Meanwhile the Cards are right on our ass and they're up next.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see us sweep this one and get swept by the Cards... seems like a Brewer thing to do.

Well at least Moustakas looks like he isn't allergic to Quintana like everyone else.

I'm not saying I'm ignoring the Cards given the fact that we and the Cubs face them a decent amount of series the rest of the way but otherwise I am just assuming that two of the teams (Cards, D-Backs, maybe Pirates/Nats, Dodgers, Rox, Braves, Phillies - whichever ones don't win their division) are going to win close to 90 games. The Cards and Cubs beating the Nats' bullpen was bad in many ways but it did take out one contender for a WC (the Nats) which doesn't mean a ton, but it's one team out at least...but I'd rather have seen the Nats go 4-0 in the stretch so far.
