I wanted to understand the dynamics of the region and it's history better, so this is my current read.

I figure the game is still going on between Russia, the USA and China and all that natural gas in Kazakhstan etc, so I'd check out the history

Interesting take on whether Bob Woodward has always been a CIA agent. Now, this isn't the first time I've read that speculation, and generally I feel Daily KOS is FOS, but it's a decent collection of some articles etc, the fastest thing I could find for my snarky remark - dig a little deeper on your own if you like, it's definitely very interesting.

Whoa, I hadn't heard that theory before. But it actually explains a great deal about his uncanny access and sourcing.

I will definitely read the article and dig into it some more. Thanks for passing it along.

That one sounds very interesting (and timely). Please let us know how it is when you've finished it.

Just finished Red Rising...

Wow... just wow...

I tired to read it three times before I finally broke through but I went straight into the second book Golden Son without pause. Glad I listened to the suggestions here and gave it a fourth try.

I recently tried a Graphic Audio book for book one of Demon Cycle series. It was...different. Not to say I hated it, but it's definitely not something I'll be trying often.

you need to find the ones that are acted out instead of the ones that are "just" read by someone. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

I read the first two books, but when I went back for the third I couldn't remember anything so stopped reading. Might start over at some point. I did enjoy it.

I've never read the books, but I heard the Fox trailer for the show is downright cringe worthy.

They’re making a show? I knew it was supposed to be a movie, but a show would probably fit better due to the timelines in the first book.

I wish it would have been a cable network, but it looks good. Zack Morris lol. The story actually jumps 100 years after that initial story line, so hopefully they stick to that. They can certainly have a season or two of present day though.

Read all three of these this summer. Carried them around like little bibles. Written for lay people but gets a little sciency-complicated at times. If you're patient it will absolutely blow your mind, especially the last one (which Benedict Cumberbatch just signed on to record the audiobook).

Reading Circe atm. Liking it a lot more than I thought I would going into it. It's definitely a must read for any fans of Greek Mythology.
