Yes, Nate, when Trump uses dogwhistke racism to make what *you think* is an incredibly subtle and disguised racist criticism of a black person, even though *everyone* can see what he's doing, we're not *that* stupid, that criticism is invalid. In fact every time he does that, he is marching back the progress we made regarding racial relations in this country back to the fifties, and every time he breaks this lame tactic out he needs to be smacked down with extreme prejudice.

None of Trump's lame and transparent attempts at dogwhistle racism are legitimate criticisms.

From the comments

“I’m stuck in a situation where I have to stay with my family because I’m paying for all these lawsuits and I can’t afford to do that...but they’re cucked,”

The complete and utter lack of situational and self-awareness in this statement is so delightful, I want to drizzle it in honey and sprinkle powdered sugar all over it and eat it until I feel sick and woozy.

Oh boy, Elizabeth Warren wants to make another independent agency - has she not learned the lessons of the past?
https://www.warren.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/Accountable%20Capitalism%20Act.pdf

Can you see the flaws in the bill? There are some good points too.
40 percent of corporate board member at those companies are elected by employees.

That means if you own stock, you then get to vote 3/5's of your shares. How easy will it be for activist investors to drive short-term gains? It will be the unintended consequence she didn't anticipate.

Kind of like the banking legislation to reduce the size of big banks - but so much paperwork that it went a different direction.

And of course, she makes it political with SEC. 8. POLITICAL SPENDING.

NYC has decided to give free medical tuition to drive up the number of general practitioners and researchers.

I wonder what the flaw is in that line of thinking :D

NYU.

Similarly, Harvard's endowment is large enough that they can provide tuition-free education to every student without operating at a loss.

I think you're on the right side with the Warren comment, but here NYU is trying to get the best students regardless of ability to pay, and that's a good thing.

Actually, their main (stated) goal is to get more doctors to become general practitioners and researchers. (although they may have changed course).

A research university bloated with military industrial complex-driven federal subsidization providing free medical education in lower Manhattan creating an army of doctors feeding into boutique NYC medical practices exclusively serving uber rich investment bankers. Our tax dollars subsidizing Wall Street, yet again. Elizabeth Warren will be looking into this.

Close :D - It should have been a reimbursement to those that actually become general practitioners or researchers. You do it after not before. Once they have finished school they will still be drawn toward the better paying position. There is plenty of behavioral economics research that backs this up. I have to believe some of them have posted on the subject.

And yes, Elizabeth Warren is hilarious this way. If you ever listen to her speak, she always comes back to "Our tax dollars subsidizing Wall Street, yet again."

I can imagine the subsidy being purely for attracting top talent, period, with an expectation that from that attracted top talent there will be a commensurate increase in graduates going into general practice (particularly in NYC area) or research. If Stanford, Yale, etc. do that already (do they) NYU is trying to compete on that level.

They already plan on certain dependent contingencies, like suspending debt until some minimal criteria is reached, and then wiping slate clean. Years ago, I was in Greenland, and at a party I met several doctors and found that their medical education was paid for by Denmark on the condition that they practice for some minimum period in Greenland. One of them had decided to stay beyond the mandatory period, while the other planned on returning to Denmark.

Warren is easy to lampoon, but the issues she highlights have been overlooked by short attention span media and electorate for years. Regardless of her motivations and regardless of whether she has good plans to address these issues, for now I'm at least happy to see a relentless, high profile haranguer (is that a word?) taking them on.

This past week was awesome.

A female Muslim Bernie Bro, a Transgender Bernie Bro, and a pro-union, working class Bernie Bro all won their primaries. Love it!
