Pascal Siakam Megathread - All Siakam-centric topics will be merged into this one

Post#1 » by RaptorPride » Fri Aug 17, 2018 9:14 pm

Just want to know what people other than Raptors fans think of him. We all seem to value him highly and think he is gonna have a really good year. What do you guys see and what is his value around the league?

Its the drew league but he dropped 38 points 15 rebounds and 11 assists in a game

Was also the D-League Finals MVP

I like his game a lot, he's a 3 pointer away from being a special defensive player.

He is a special defensive player right now.

Anyways, I'm a big fan. Coming out of college, I always thought of him as a potential "new-age" Taj Gibson.

The three will make him special in that it'll allow him to stay on the floor in every situation, there are only a couple of bigs that are special on defense and can hit the three, Davis, Kristaps, Horford, Embiid and sometimes Dray.

Him being able to hit the three doesn't mean he's not a special defensive player, though. That was my point. I get what you're saying now that you've explained it, but he's a damn good defensive player now and impacts games in a pretty sizable way even without the three.

I was just so happy to hear that we got Kawhi without giving up OG or Siakam. Just imagine those three on the court together.

Draymond Green 2.0, but he won't be hated around the league

The small ball lineup potential is scary (maybe some issues crashing the boards?) - Lowry, Green, Kawhi, OG, Siakam.

That's probably the lineup I'm most looking forward to see from any team this year.

All I know is he's better than Draymond and a lot of people are gonna say the same this season especially when he improves his 3 pt shot

He could be a top 50 player soon.

Raptors prospects:

Overrated - Anunoby

Underrated - Siakam

I really like him.

Awesome defender, potentially part of Torontos best line-up and he possesses an incredible combination of size/length and mobility/agility.

But sometimes it feels like many are disregarding Draymond Greens ability. Yes he profits tremendously (on offense) to play alongside three incredible shooters, but he himself is one of the best defenders of this generation and his combination of strength, incredible defensive awareness and mobility makes it possible that Golden State can play small-ball.

I also think that top 50 is possible for Siakam but one has to remember that this means that there are at least 10 (with the concentration of talent probably even more than 15) teams where he would have to be one of the two best players.

Leonard, OG, and Siakam could be special defensively together.

I didn't catch too many Raptors games but I was awed by how fast he was up the court. I had to Google him.

eh Anunoby is like 21 years old but he's a shut down defender though.

Pascal Siakam, your 2019 NBA Finals MVP (19 ppg, 12 rpg, 5 apg)!

The Jurassic Wall of Defense defeats the Nuggets 4-3 in the NBA Finals, book it, folks!

Probably a homer but he’s amazing. It’s funny how him and FVV were probably are two least hyped draft picks and they are appearing to be our best young guys

If the team is good enough defensively though you can live with the rebounding issues. IIRC GS isn’t that good of a rebounding team with their small ball lineup, it’s just they destroy you in so many other ways you can live with it
