Deng is going to be playable this year

I have a feeling
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

I can't for the life of me figure out why we're still talking about Luol Deng

Not right now it doesn't... Right now we have the best player in the league and kept most of our core in tact...
Deng is barely on the radar...

Deng

Just ignore stretching him.
Pay him out and close his deal or he agrees to close his deal for lesser $$$ closer to his release date.
That's when a team will reach on him.
Otherwise, unfortunately... Then he is gone.
No reason to hold us down any longer.
That's my last deng rant

Read on Twitter

Good summary by ShamSports on the potential Deng situation outcome, a lot of the stuff talked about here.

After the deadline of Sep 1st, both sides might be motivated to agree to a buyout if Deng can find a team willing to sign him, for example the Rockets.

For Deng, if he has a minimum salary offer lined up, he can agree to give up an equivalent amount as a buyout without losing any overall money. Might give up a bit more just so he can go to a team willing to give him a shot to play.

For the Lakers, after Sep 1st they’d only be stretching the last year of his deal, same as if they waited til end of upcoming season.

Interesting. If this doesn’t work out, I’m still for trading him for Noah. That should be the bare minimum Deng situation fix effort. Anything better than that, go for it. Staying put and letting him ride the pine should not be considered as an option.

Should have shipped Deng & Hart to Phoenix for Knight & Chris rather than signing Rondo... Knight would be a solid backup PG & Chris is a talented PF...

Chris is garbage and the Lakers aren't going to ship Hart to get a two year deal in return for a back up PG when they are looking to maximize their cap space anyways.

Try everything to trade Deng. If no deal happens then try to play him as a 4 and spot minutes at 5.
