Trying to find more on Brandon.

He seems to be our STEALTH player this off season pertaining to his development.

Anyone have more to offer up on him moving forward to training camp?

BI has a long way to go but will at best one day be almost as strong as Durant. He will never be thick, will have to find his way as a natural twig like Livingston and Reggie Miller did.

I like Your suggestion of Reggie Miller.
That is a quality comparison.
What comes to mind is that Reggie has fast arm speed going up with the ball.
Something I still think Brandon exposes in his shot.
This could allow for more defensive success against bodied up.
However his length and combined spacing should work in his favor thru his career

I’m expecting big improvements by BI on all fronts this fall. I think he’ll start his straight path to stardom beginning this season.

Thanks for the compliment, but I was merely giving examples of others that were built like twigs but have had a great impact despite it. BI will be a star in this league for a long time, maybe even be the all-time twig poster-boy one day barring major injuries.

Yes, I too, would love to see him shoot like Reggie but I think, due to his extremely lengthy upper arms, that he might be better off emulating KG’s jump shot. He could use a quicker release, I agree. But the physical nature of very long upper arms makes for slower sling shot action mechanics than for a player with a more normally proportioned build, like Allen or Curry or Kobe. But despite BI’s somewhat slow shooting mechanics, he’s already very hard to block due to his length. If he worked on a higher release point similar to KG’s or Porzingis’ shot, and had a quicker release on his jumper, he would be practically unguardable.

Nice video. Good stuff.

I really like that BI wants to be a GREAT player. Give it a couple years, and more and more weight will pack on. The guy will be 22ish, with a world of talent.

Meh, didn't show me much really. Handle still looks shaky. Those practice turn around jumpshots are a waste of time since it's highly unlikely he'll ever use them in a real game; also noticed he turned to the right every single time to shoot these. On another note, it did seem like he was having fun.

It would probably be more useful if he worked out with other current or former NBA players. Other than Stackhouse, I don't think i've seen or heard BI working it out with other peers.

Well generally if you are having fun working out it's probably because you aren't really working out.

Um . . . what?

Micah Lancaster was the guy who transformed/worked out with Victor Oladipo last summer. You know, the guy who just won MIP?

Man that looks like a really visually straining environment to be practicing with the white floor and walls and that bright light.
I wonder if any of these trainers have special facilities where they can modify the physical environment in a way that would optimize the player's performance in the standard NBA arena. I know high-altitude practice facilities (I think in Utah or Colorado) have been used to better player conditioning.

It looked like a real workout for McGee... Props to him for taking it seriously and being in shape...

Sleepy and Kuz looked a little out of it or something... You gotta look yourself in the mirror if you come in and McGee is kicking your ass. :D

Ingram has got to get a reproducible motion out of those spaghetti arms of his. At least he's not putting ball behind his head with a stop and go motion like his rookie year. He's got a smooth release anyway.

More interesting was the Kuz set with his back to the basket. Nice fluid fades in both directions. We saw a little of that last year and he had some success in the post.

McGee hitting face up jumpers is interesting to me.... I think I can count on one hand the ones I've seen him make from 15+ in games. Granted I haven't seen much of him because he was typically an end of the bench guy or limited in minutes. If he can do that consistently then we'll be fine. He's always impressed me as a guy that plays with no confidence whatsoever. Maybe that's why this doesn't translate. Hope he can figure that out.

This footage of Ingram and Kuzma is from May posted by Lakers Nation, people on youtube just pasted it in there trying to get views. If you wanna see what Ingram's current J looks like check out his video with Micah Lancaster from a couple weeks ago or check out the Lakers.com workout videos, his jumper looks so smooth now. Also you should check out the LakersFilmRoom podcast with Micah Lancaster, it's got me excited about Ingram's shot and fluidity to get it off quicker (and also the overall improvement of his game).

It's really cool to see how they spend their workout time, but it would be nice to more new and relevant videos. If you're so excited about home equipment, that can help in home workouts, I can also recommend you not just ab wheel, but Chirp wheel as well. It's all for your spine. You can look at this link ( here: https://www.escapemonthly.com/chirp-wheel-review/ ), just to understand is it worth it for you, or not. I've purchased it few weeks ago, and it's really cool.
