Kenneth Faried arrested

https://www.netsdaily.com/2018/8/21/17763312/kenneth-faried-arrested-on-marijuana-possession-in-hamptons

Kenneth Faried was arrested in Bridgehampton on Sunday morning and charged with being in possession of marijuana.

The news was first reported by 27east, a Hamptons news site, and confirmed by NetsDaily’s Anthony Puccio. The Nets are aware of the arrest and issued a statement:

“We are aware of the situation involving Kenneth Faried and are in the process of gathering more information at this time.”

Southampton Town Police told 27east that “Kenneth Bernard Faried Lewis, 29, of Denver, Colorado, was arrested on Montauk Highway at 1:30 a.m. and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.”

Police told 27east that Faried was the rear passenger of a vehicle that was stopped during a sobriety checkpoint and was found to be in possession of more than two ounces of marijuana.

Now I'm not going to come down on him because I think marijuana should be decriminalized and regulated, but he's got to be smarter than this, especially as one of the veterans on this team.

Keep the weed at home.

Weed in the hamptons

I'm shocked that they'd randomly search Faried while he was in the backseat of a car that was pulled over for no reason.

Kenneth Faried arrested

Post#3 » by Paradise » Tue Aug 21, 2018 4:41 pm

He definitely should’ve been smarter about carrying that much, if any at all but that’s ridiculous. There was no intent to sell and the context makes it seem he wasn’t even near the wheel. A passenger in the backseat. Especially considering NY is supposed to be decriminalizing certain amounts of possession on September 1st.

This won’t stick long term I’d imagine but it’s still an example of hypocrisy. The dude wouldn’t get hit with criminal possession of cigarettes or 2 ounces of Hennessy or Jack Daniels. Two substances with far more harm to the body and ability to drive in a motor vehicle and I certainly hope there won’t be ANY mention of his Muslim faith.

I don't think this should reflect poorly on his character at all, and he may have gotten comfortable after spending years in Colorado but still, you've got to use your head. I'm questioning why the police seized his money and why he was searched if he was a passenger.

Either way, regardless of how I feel that this is b.s., he still needs to be smarter about he goes about things. He'll probably be fined or suspended by the league, Nets may do some internal discipline but I feel like as long as he apologizes to the team and staff and there are no further incidents, nothing to get up in arms about.

I don't think he'll face any punishment from the league or the team unless he's failed multiple tests before.

unless its like insane gilbert arenas/drug level amounts of weed im going to kind of sweep this under the rug given farieds track record. I agree with you 100% MDB... you have to be smarter then that even if its just some weed (already decriminalized here in MA, thought it was in NJ also???). on the flip side, cops... can be... racist dicks. so who knows.

agreed. the league wants no part of policing weed unless they absolutely have to. they will sweep it under the rug if they can

NJ is working towards it, NYC I think is set to decriminalize up to a certain amount if i'm not mistaken.

Yeah I'm not even going to hold this against him. He made a mistake. i could care less if he smokes weed, just do it in the comfort and safety of your own home. Its not worth it.

I'm glad you brought up the cops because I'm still wondering how he ended up being searched unless they smelled weed at the checkpoint.

How as a relatively high-profile millionaire do you not have people to hold/buy for you? I say that as a squeaky clean square though so what do I know?

I noticed someone commenting that this will be Marks and company's first arrest and minor drug issue to deal with. Just another little step in the growth process, I guess.

Also, nice to have this happen during the summer instead of being a regular season distraction. Great timing, in a sense. :)

It's just canabis it should be legal, it is medicinally in NJ but expensive to get a card.
A guy I know has PTSD and used to smoke an ounce a day he says now he's on probation and can't smoke he went to rehab and was freaking out without it. He'll just be put on prescribed drugs instead that have worse side effects/can screw up the system worse.

Another war veteran I know has PTSD and said the drugs he was put on don't cut it the pure ganja is the best thing for PTSD and other mental illnesses.

As far as Faried it should be thrown out he comes from Denver where its legal.

I have PTSD but I found that weed made my anxiety worsen so I quit it back in 2012. But of course it could have been the particular strain i was smoking since some strains made me relaxed and others made me very nervous. Once NJ legalizes it I will try to find a strain that is good for helping with anxiety especially at night when it really becomes bad for me and I can't sleep.

Sorry to hear that bruh, people say Indica works best. Have you tried getting a marijuana card? It's expensive to get but in my case (had a brain tumor removed) I qualify for one but it doesn't mix with the meds so I don't utilize the ganja the way it should be consumed.

^^glad to see that you're doing well after experiencing that, I believe you mentioned it one time.

I've been out of the ganj life since 2012 so I am not familiar with Indica. I don't want to try to get a MJ card because I dunno if my physician will sign off on it. I'm waiting for Phil Murphy to hurry up and get this MJ legislation passed here in NJ so I can get it legally and hassle free, but its taking awhile. But I'll definitely keep that strain in mind.

i actually wanted to try out the oils. i don't feel like inhaling smoke after 6 years of not smoking.
