As a board mod and a human being, I have no problem with 13th Man expressing his opinions on a political thread. I also have no problem with any other poster expressing their opinions on 13th Man's opinions.

This really doesn't reflect well on Canada's educational institutions, but I shouldn't generalize like that.

Outside of how ridiculous that sounds, here's the reason why Rudy Giuliani and Trump cultists like 13th are trying to now run a smear campaign against "truth".

They know deep down that Trump has done something wrong that will get him into serious legal trouble and they don't care. They want him to get away with it. So they're doubling down and are now saying the truth can be used against him, which makes the truth = bad. In Donald Trump's case, the truth is bad, because if Donald Trump goes in front of federal investigators or even worse (for him) a grand jury and tells the truth about his dealings with the Russians and his reasons for obstructing justice, he will end up going to jail.

If Donald Trump does what pretty much his own lawyers expect him to do, which is lie to federal investigators or a grand jury, he will end up going to jail.

This why the Trump Cult now hates truth, because the facts can and will get their orange lord a one way ticket to prison.

i am not on the left. I've vote republican in more elections then I have not in addition to be extremely anti-hillary and consistenly have crushed the DNC.

I'd love to vote republican again if the party got its act together and came up with a decent candidate. Trump is nowhere near that, and in fact is far and away the worst candidate of any party in my lifetime. a true piece of **** human being, racist, narccacist, idiot.

^^^that's why I found it odd that he labels everyone on here a hardcore leftist. I'm socially left leaning but I'm not anti 2A (I don't think assault rifles are necessary for civilians to own) and even though I believe that I have no right to tell a woman what to do with her body and I support her right to choose, but personally I'm not a fan of abortion (except in cases of rape or medical reasons). I want the government to clean up the deficit by being smarter with their spending (and that does not mean gutting social programs that help people). spend more money on infrastructure, invest in cleaner energy and catch up with the rest of the world. I have particular issues with Feminist movements mainly how white feminists treat women of color and transgender women. I can go on and on but you get the point. Its a mixed bag.

Paul Manafort is going to die in prison. There are people in Ukraine who take solace in what happened today. Meanwhile, Donald Trump is on Air Force One having a tirade.

Within a span of 30 minutes, his lawyer and campaign chairman either plead guilty or were convicted of 8 felony counts. Trump and his looney base can continue to scream witch hunt. Mueller will just keep collecting scalps until it comes time for Donald to face the fact that running for president is the stupidest thing that he could have ever done in his life.

I also can't understand why anyone would ever vote for the Republican Party, knowing the hypocrisy and corruption they stand for. Not that the Democrats are amazing, but voting Republican is inexcusable.

I feel like the vast majority of Conservatives don't understand what the word "leftist" actually means.

I mean s**t Bernie Sanders isn't even a leftist. Calling himself a socialist is not only inaccurate but just horrible branding. If his policies didn't have the socialist label, people would see just how reasonable they are and how they're half measures compared to the steps that this country took to curb poverty and corruption after the 1st Great Depression. His proposed policies are a step in the right direction and by no means radical or unheard of in this country's history. Personally I don't think his policies go far enough and even that doesn't make me a leftist.

Socialism gets such a bad rap.... yeah you probably dont want to run your entire country on it but socialist concepts apply really well to things like healthcare and education.

also, everyone is quick to dump on socialism, but capitalism is just as bad. we still dont have clean water in detroit, baltimore is a complete mess, we have 50,000 homeless veterans and 4 million homeless children.

Socialism gets a bad rap because the GOP has spent the last 30 years making people think that socialism = communism or that every country that falls under the banner of Socialism ends like Venezuela.

The socialism that Americans want today is what we see in Europe and Canada. We are so far behind the curve in terms of healthcare and infrastructure it's ridiculous.

Also, has any of the people against Medicare for all realized that if everyone is covered, that is better for employers who can then not have to sink money into health insurance?

I hate taxes but if I have to pay a bit more so that Americans don't have to go bankrupt if they get sick, I'm all in. Improved healthcare will do wonders for this country.
