Carmelo Anthony is a Houston Rocket

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Mon Aug 13, 2018 5:51 pm

I understand that this is official-official now.

In a move that no one saw coming, Carmelo Anthony has joined the Houston Rockets after being pursued by Daryl Morey for almost a decade.

May as well just sign here, Pau Gasol. Morey always gets his man.

And all reports say that he has bought into a role that will see him come off of the bench. If he flourishes then watch out, NBA!

GO ROCKETS!

And welcome to Houston, Carmelo!

Shenanigans?
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Moving away from home is tough, but at least with modern technology it doesn't seem so far away.

Im shocked to see so many of you Houston fans excited about signing Melo. I feel bad for you guys. The storyline will be very different once the season gets underway and this trash pulls you down.

Real bad signing. He is one of those cancers you want to stay away from. UNLESS, he comes from the bench, plays 15-20 mins as a power forward.

It is no risk for the Rockets and the guys want him here. If it doesn't work, then t won't affect much.

The Rockets need to try something to keep up with Golden State. The Rockets & Warriors are in the top tier of the West and there is a substantial gap between 2 and 3, so the Rockets can afford to take a swing for the fences.

If Melo can't do anything with Harden & Paul feeding him, then he is likely done as an NBA player.

I’ve been as anti-Melo as anyone over the last 10 years, and even I think it’s a great signing.

How is the “trash going to pull us down”, exactly, when he has NO leverage to do anything but exactly what he’s told?

Certainly not just you. His apparent weight loss is one of the things most people have mentioned.
That should bode well for his resurgence in Rockets red.

Carmelo is going to be really good this year. He will score a lot of easy points. And that can get him going in other areas. Great move.

"Bulk up" if all that is asked of you is to box out. If you want to have fun and score, you lose weight. Can't blame the guy for following orders.

He looks in good shape, but every off season you hear the weight loss narrative with him.

He's not as bulky as he appears during the season. He wears a bulky protective vest on his torso and thighs, so he looks bigger.
