You mean huge as huge arm muscles? Because he was just flexing there on the pic after workout. Look at previous pics that are few days older, he looks nothing like that. But if you mean huge as huge body frame then yea, he has a nice solid frame that he can transform into basically whatever he wants. But as of now, i am not convinced that he could effectively play PF. On offense maybe, defense not a chance. New era PF's that are coming into the league are quick, agile and even strong.
1 month ago even Carlisle had no clue where to put him i am sure all of us here don't know better than him :P But will be fun to see the "final product" when he actually steps out on the court, what his weaknesses and strengths are.

Actually arm as whole. Just look at the size of his wrist. And he doesn't seem to really be flexing at all, admittedly it is after workout tho. But his hand/writs by sheer size look like they are photoshopped into the picture and it's 19 year old "boy" we're talking about, not some prime athlete at 23-27. But as I pointed out many times before, he has this in genes.

It's a really good one. Seems like Ayton and Doncic spent some time together before the draft day. Funny when he was saying his shirt was too long.

Recomping is hard to do. The only ways you can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time is if you're a beginner, are very fat and lastly on steroids. Its better for him to just cut (even if goes on gear) while maintaining strength. His base is good enough.

This is definitely not true. You dont need steroids to do any of that, not at all. I wont go deeper into it but your info is outdated if you really believe what you just said. Besides, Mavs will have him on a "special" diet to make it even easier.

Has there been new literature about this stuff? Feel free to link me up man. I'm a sucker for sports science studies. Also I'm not saying recomp is impossible, I'm just saying its inefficient and slow if your a natural athlete. It's better to just cut and focus on maintaining strength.

I am sure the literature exsists but I am talking from my personal experience as well. In fact, I am just in the middle of something similar I think Luka will have to go through (building muscle while lowering body fat) so I know it can be done. I am not taking any steroids, supplements, not counting calories... and the results are still impressive.

For example, I started at the end of June, I am 6-3 and was about 220 with 16% body fat. Right now I am at 218 and 11% BF. I am doing this by myself, dont have a training partner or a trainer and I am not really eating as I should + I still drink alcohol. I am also closer to 40 so imagine what a 20 year old pro athlete with pro trainers and nutritionists can do in a short period of time. :D

Anyone saw this story about someone impersonating Lukas family members who signed a contract with an agent Charles Briscoe to represent Luka? Of course Duffy found out about it and called Luka before the draft and apparently now Slovenian police is investingating the whoe thing. Crazy story;-)

Your genetics are much, much, much more important than being a pro athlete, or having trainers and nutritionists.

I agree gnetics are important but the right nutrition and training can do wonders for your body. Luka is not a genetic freak but he is not just some kid who is completely unathletic. He already showed he can be in better shape and that he can progress a lot in a very short period of time. Just remember when he got back from a couple of weeks of training in the US, he was much improved. In any case we will soon see what he did this summer and if the rumors are true, he should be looking good.

Not sure if already posted, but he posted on his instagram that he's currently attending P3 in Santa Monica, so hopefully his progress/results will be at least as last time he went! Also maybe we can hope to get some official numbers from trainers there again, how much he progressed/regressed since last time.

Without crazy athleticism, I think it takes a nearly triple-double from Doncic every game to get ROY award. Passing and leadership are often overlooked as they're often less appreciated in highlights. I think the Mavs are better off let Doncic focus on PG role in his rookie season. He could easily get double digit assists. Meanwhile, Smith could work for a closer role and bigger scoring role. He could easily average 20 PPG as well.

He is mostly playing video games and was on a long vacation, while others were/are working out like crazy for the past month or two, so i think that his body will struggle again towards the 2nd half of the season. It's safe to say he won't get ROY anyway :P

DONUT 9: THE EXPANDING MAN

OK, that's enough "versus'' stuff.

Luka Doncic checks in at nearly 6-8.

Luka Doncic is 19.

Luka Doncic, the Mavs think, is still growing.

inb4 someone posts a picture with weird angle as a proof that he's 6-7 in shoes max :P
