How about 7? Archibald. Anderson, Big Al (the original Big Al, that is), Gugliotta.
Seems like a zillion guys have worn that number.
Fencer reregistered wrote:Meanwhile, it seems there are only two numbers that were retired for the first and only Celtic to wear them. One is pretty easy to guess. The other I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been looking at the list of player numbers.

For example:
#12 4 players - Willie Naulls (all-star Knicks), Sidney Wicks (all-star Blazers), Otis Birdsong (all-star Kings, Nets), Dominique Wilkins (all-star Hawks)
There is one uniform # with 5 players who were all-stars once...which # and which players?
Let's try for #20:
Gordon Hayward (he DID play for the Celtics already)
Ray Allen
Gary Payton
Scott Wedman
But I'm blanking on the 5th, since a little research shows Larry Siegfried never was an All-Star.

The easy one is 00. I have no clue what the other one is.......maybe 19?

You are close. Hint, fifth guy has fifth most points in Knicks history and after played 12 years in New York played last season in Boston and of course won a ring. He was a five time all-star and two time on second all-nba team

Either early player - 22 McCauley - or mildly weird number 19 nelson, 16!Sanders?

None of those.

I am completely stumped. Is it #2?

#2 wasn't retired for a player. Neither was #1. Neither was Johnny Most's microphone.
As of now, all other retirements are for players, although WHAT if anything was retired for Loscutoff is open for discussion.

Ah, I thought it might have been a trick question, which is why I chose #2. Ok, well, since this is bothering me so much, I'm going to look up the answer. No worries, I won't spoil it for anyone.
EDIT: Just looked it up. WOW!! That's crazy!!!
