Knight is such an interesting case study into someone who came into the league with a ton of hype, had all the skill, enough athleticism and the shooting ability to be a damn good PG. He even at one point put up early 20/6 per36. But it just seems like he's never figured out how to become more efficient on offense. Each year players should undergo a natural progression and development of their abilities but Knight has just stalled. I don't think he's lacking actual basketball skills because clearly he can shoot, he can handle the ball and he can make obvious passes, it's really the mental (BBIQ) game that he hasn't really continued to develop.

He's *still* over dribbling, still dribbling into obviously squared up defender, still unable to shake off his man, still not a good finisher at the rim and he's still not able to create openings for the pass. He just doesn't do things with a plan nor does he seem to have the creativity on the fly when he doesn't have a plan. What he needs to do and this is what I hope Koko can help him with, is to just simplify his game by being a catch and shoot PG and run designed plays which doesn't require him to create something from nothing. By taking opportunities to over dribbling and stalling with the ball away from Knight, I think he has the opportunity to be more efficient as a shooter and passer. That's all we need from him.

I agree with everything. Honestly if he could really just be utilized as a catch and shoot guy he could probably be a great shooter. He always wants to put the ball down though. I watched him warm up before a game a couple years ago, while also watching Booker and some others and Knight just NEVER missed. Without having to do too much or think too much, I think he could be efficient.

I really hope Koko is more of a "shoot or pass" type of guy with limited dribbling once in the half court.

For some players putting the ball on the floor is their default mindset when they get the ball. Some players are really good and you don't mind them putting the ball on the floor to make things happen. Knight thinks of himself as someone who can get points or create play in ISO and time and time again, he's shown he hasn't been able to. At this point in his career and after a season ending injury, he really has to figure out what kind of player he is moving forward. Is he still going to be the same gunner that put up 20/6 (on awful efficiency) or is he going to be a 15/4 guy on good efficiency that just catches and shoots? If the previous season and the season ending injury isn't the kick in the butt he needed to wake up then he's going to go the same way as his ex-team mate Brandon Jennings.

When were they teammates? They were traded for each other.
