WCW Spring Stampede 2000---- Was one week after the Russo/Bischoff era began, very good show.

Judgment Day 2009---- By far the worst show i've ever been to. Was awful

That ROH era that you just mentioned, i've been to several of those! Back then ROH used to come here every other month. Now its maybe twice a year. Though we do have AAW to fill that void. AAW is probably the best independent out there today. Gargano and Ciampa came from there, Bobby Fish and O'Reilly, Seth Rollins started there, Matt Riddle was there, etc. Many of the guys you see on the current TNA roster are from there. Pentagon, Fenix, Callihan/OVE, Scarlett, Kingston, etc. Lots of impact guys make frequent appearances too like DJ Zima Ion, Moose, Trevor Lee, Jimmy Jacobs to name a few. And im sure theres a handful of guys I didn't list.

So yea I cant complain about not getting a Royal Rumble lol. Us here in Chicago are pretty blessed with lots of access to good wrestling. We even have a Wrestling store that frequently has guest appearances to do photos and signings. Though they only sell a limited number of tickets and the big ones get sold out REAL fast (like the Okada appearance coming up, Bullet club last October, etc). I was hoping last week that Billy Corgan would make an appearance there since he was in town for 2 nights with the Smashing Pumpkins, but no dice.

My biggest regret is, I haven't been to an ECW show, and they were here a couple times in 1999 and 2000 (REALLY wish i went to Anarchy Rulz 1999)

Wow man that's quite the resume and Chicago had a lot of NWA/WCW shows in 80's right? Like Chi-Town Rumble and
stuff?

I started going to shows as a kid in the late 80's for Maple Leaf Gardens house shows that would be here about once
a month I remember the first show that I ever went to was main evented by Dibiase vs. Savage so this must have been
a few months after Wrestlemania 4.

We had Wrestlemania 6 here at the Skydome and it was Hogan vs. Warrior my 2 favorites as a kid. I was so completely
torn between the 2 and had shirts of both guys and they were the only 2 wrestlers I dressed up for Halloween. I was 9
years old at the time and my dad was leaving for a business trip to Europe so we couldn't go to the show and went to
the airport to say goodbye to him. I was devastated to miss that show/match I remember the front page of the paper
that day had the Warrior with no face paint on and I remember playing the Wrestlefest arcade game at the airport that day.

The first show I went to in years was a house show at Skydome in 1997 it was just a couple of days before Survivor Series
and Bret Hart was already writing "WCW" in the air with his hands so I can kind of see why Vince was scared and had to
screw him lol.

As for the rest of the shows I've been to...

Nitro - August 1998 in Miami

Nitro - March 1999 (When Goldberg speared Bret with the chest protector on)

ECW on TNN - August 1999 (RVD vs. CW Anderson main event)

Wrestlemania 18 - (2 days before my birthday ended up getting 5th row seats after upgrading with a scalper an hour
before with a friend. Got to keep the chair and in 2013 Hogan signed autographs a block away from me so I got him
to sign the chair)

SummerSlam 2004 - (Also got 5th row from a scalper and got to keep the chair. Kind of meh show and we crapped on
most of the card I believe this was the birth of "Bizzaro land")

Unforgiven 2006 - (Great PPV but had worst seats ever upper deck nose bleeds in the corner near the set)

ROH 2009 house show (Only ROH show I've been to but it's amazing all the future stars on the card)

WWE Network Special Road Block 2016 (Worst seats ever even in a small arena was behind the Entrance set. I believe WWE
was testing out the brand split at the time HHH vs. Ambrose was a good main event)

NXT TakeOver Toronto 2016 (Had a blast might be biased but I think one of the best TakeOvers ever)

Survivor Series 2016 (Goldberg! seats were literally right beside the hard camera dead center facing the ring. My
voice was completely shot for RAW the next night but was fun doing 3 shows in 3 nights)

Slammiversary 2018 (First ever TNA/Impact Wrestling show maybe show of the year?)

Also have done a bunch of Impact TV tapings the last couple of weeks and been to a handful of RAWs and Smackdowns
over the years. Right now I'm trying to get over the flu so I can be ready for RAW and Smackdown this week.

Would love to see a NJPW and Luch Underground show and WWE wise got to see a Rumble and would like to see
Money In the Bank and maybe Hell in a Cell although I've seen a Cell match in person before.

Hopefully the time the Rumble comes to our cities they'll be 50 man Rumbles Saudi styles

I believe your right about WCW 80s house shows, but was too young and missed out on all that. My dad hated wrestling so we were just lucky he took us to survivor series lol

Wrestlemania 18 was awesome! Had to have been a blast to have been in person. And I'm not crazy about the Saudi royal rumble. Like how does the winner of a 50 man rumble not get an automatic title shot? But yea I'm sure for seeing it in person it's still cool as hell.

Yeah it was especially the Rock vs. Hogan match...I'll never forget after the match the feeling like you just spent
30-40 minutes doing intense cardio. I was literally sweating and exhausted and all I was wearing was an nWo shirt and
jeans lol. It was so loud and intense the video never does it justice. I remember there was this girl beside me from
Michigan who was a huge Lita mark and was cheering and screaming for the Rock but me and my friend drowned her out
with Hogan chants lol...

There was like this euphoria after like people couldn't believe what they just witnessed like you just watched one
of the greatest matches of all-time there was just this buzz over the dome. My voice was shot for 2 weeks and I remember
trying to make some noise for the HHH vs. Y2J match but I had nothing left in my lungs.

After the show me and my friend were walking out with our chairs and we must have been approached by 10-15 people
asking if they could buy it and make some interesting financial offers.

Neville's contract is officially expired and he is now officially free to do as he pleases. A shame that probably the best CW since the restart of the whole division has left (and that they never promoted him to lets say, IC champ or US champ) but i'm sure now he will be used well at least (instead of losing to Enzo Amore )

I went to watch this match because I've heard good things about it from the peeps here and I've got to say...I was a little disappointed in the match. I'm going to assume that it was definitely one of those "In the moment" type matches, where the build up was great, the story behind the match was great, the atmosphere was electric which you could tell by the video on the network but I imagine actually being there had to of been very hype. You could see Hogan poorly executing a few moves but not everyone is perfect. It just didn't do much for me but like I said, it's obviously a "in the moment" match.

It was. If you were a long time wrestling fan at the time and followed both companies, Hogan vs the Rock was big time. A marquee match of mega star vs mega star and yes the build was done great as well. Keep in mind, back in 2002 not every marquee match had to be a technical masterpiece in order to be good either. I felt that same rush from my friends basement watching it live on ppv. I'm sure that watching it years later yea your only gonna see a mediocre match from a technical standpoint. But im sure you noticed how invested and hot the crowd was in this match. And that wasn't just Toronto, that was pretty much the feeling of all hardcore wrestling fans.

Now Hogan/Rock 2 at WM19? Yea that was cringworthy both in build and in match

It wasn't awful, I mean I did really enjoy the invasion PPV and was going nuts like a kid in a candy store when ECW joined the party. But then right away they had ECW join WCW when they should've been a 3rd party, atleast for a little while.

But something was for sure missing there. It's probably the fact that the WCW faction didn't have the big guns like hogan, goldberg, Nash, sting, Luger, Flair, etc. Then to add to all that, their leader was stone cold Steve Austin, who is the one that started the WWFs comeback in popularity over WCW in the 1st place. They totally underachieved with that whole thing

Unless something major changes, it's going to be hard for me to ever consider him in the same stratosphere as guys like Austin and Rock. He's been a solid WWE performer, but he's had a distinct lack of top-tier matches the past year or so. All his matches are good, but very few have been great, and while I think that's more due to how terribly WWE books everyone and how incompetently they lay out their matches than anything Styles has done, it's still going to end up as a mark against him, I think.

As much as I love Styles, when's the last time the guy put on a classic match? It's been ages.
