And with the fake rumors of Kerrseds health issues we officially have run out of things to talk about.

Does anyone know when scrimmages start? Like, when should we expect the whole team back in Phoenix?
What about pre-season?
Curious what is the next 'big thing' we should be looking forward to. Thx!

I’ve always felt like the NBA needs to extend training camp. Instead of one week, it should be two weeks. I think a lot of teams can benefit from it. Must be tough for new players to get accustomed to a new team, especially rookies.

Great listen. Sam and Cole spends about an hr talking about the Suns, Booker, Ayton and pretty much every starter/core players on the team.

Lindsey Smith with Tom Leander and his favorite stories while working for the Suns for 30 years. Though listening right now, he starts with a story about Walter Davis as a rookie, which was like 40 years ago, when he was a ball boy I guess. So that spans a hell of a lot of players...then he jumps to a story about guarding Nash during drills with Horacio Llamas and how humbling it was...that's just the start though.

Anyone have any news or (would be awesome) video of any summer suns practice court video from the arena? Who is in town working out? Who is trying to build team chemistry? This thread has been crickets chirping since Friday?!?!

Phoenix Suns: D+

Few teams added more to the roster than the Suns, who ended up with a pair of lottery picks -- including No. 1 overall selection Deandre Ayton -- and made a splash in free agency by signing Ariza. Remember, though, that these grades are relative to expectation and a team that starts with the top pick and $15 million in cap space should be expected to improve dramatically.

Questions linger about whether Phoenix made the right use of its tools this summer. Though Ayton played well in Las Vegas, it remains unclear whether he can be the defensive anchor necessary to star as a modern center. Trading up for Mikal Bridges cost the Suns an unprotected 2021 first-round pick and Phoenix has a crowd on the wing with Bridges and Ariza joining holdovers Devin Booker (signed to a max extension that will kick in for 2019-20), Josh Jackson and T.J. Warren. And the Suns did little to address their weak rotation at point guard, instead relying on a combination of second-round pick Elie Okobo, G League product Shaquille Harrison and Brandon Knight coming back from an ACL tear.

Yeah. I think too many people think that sports are just like video games where you just offer a player more money than another team and they'll accept on the spot, or that you just offer to trade a player to a team who "obviously" has a need for a player you need and they just accept, no questions asked. Nothing is ever that simple.

There's also a weird perception on whether the NBA is an wing-dominant league or not. Like, the Rocket's roster is almost entirely wing players, and they're lauded for being visionaries, but the Suns have "a crowd on the wing."

Basically, you're always doing it the wrong way, unless it works, then of course it worked because that was the obvious way the entire time, which is why everyone should do it, except for the teams that do it and are bad, because they did it wrong. Obviously.

SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I'm unsure about the overall team building direction of the Suns but I do like that we added players that complement Booker and Ayton almost perfectly. We got 3 players in Ariza, Bridges and Okobo who all should in theory help Booker continue to be great while not taking anything away from him. These guys spread the floor for Ayton with a lot of switchability on defense.

I think we might see a fair bit of Shaq Harrison too. If he could just hit 3s consistently he'd basically be our Pat Beverley...
