How about giving us the highlights?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Duncd-On podcast. Anyone listen to this yet?
- “if Blake Griffin is your second best 3pt shooter the team probably isn’t going to score that well”
- The point was made that any player that hasn’t made an all-star in over 3 years doesn’t get referred to as a “star” but our front office keeps referring to Griffin as one. Acknowledged that griffins skill has improved significantly since entering the league but his athleticism has left him, so when he made the statement “he’s not going to dunk as much” it’s false because the actual answer is that he can’t dunk as much. Feldman and Nate joked that Griffin is saying he’s braking up with the rim when in actuality it’s the rim breaking up with him.
- Drummond really impressed with his high post passing skills and flourished in that role pre-Blake trade. Bringing in Blake, another passing big man who needs the ball in his hands meant Drummond couldn’t really function in that role effectively and forces Blake to take many long 2’s and 3’s which is a bad thing for the offence.
- Despite all the issues playing Griffin and Drummond together the offence opened up a lot when they ran and they actually played a fast pace over a small sample size. Was questioned whether a run and gun up tempo offence is sustainable all season long given the two big man line up, and how effective the team will be scoring in those opportunities but looks should be there.
- Ellenson was made fun of a couple of times, not considered an NBA player.
- when discussing Reggie Jackson Feldman said he gets far more winded than his peers which is a concern. Duncan made a point that despite Reggie’s contract and criticisms with on court play whenever he gets injured the team completely flops despite having a more than reasonable backup in Ish Smith so it’s clear he’s critical to the teams success and perhaps better than he’s shown.
- Bullock and Kennard will probably see the same amount of minutes with Bullock wining out the top job (Feldman).
- We have poor big man depth, was suggested that we should look at playing Stanley as the backup power forward but doin so creates a trickle down effect where if GR3 gets injured we would need SJ to play heavy minutes.
- Drummond’s and Griffins minutes will probably be staggered a fair amount.
- Most players on the team has “rock bottom” trade value.
- Bench could possibly be one of the worst in the league.
- Team not considered a lock for the 8th seed which is the reason Gores went and got Casey as he’s shown he can get a team into the playoffs.
- Team is considered to regress to below average in 3pt% due to losing Harris and Tolliver.
- The strength of this team is having Drummond and Griffin who are both good players. Rebounding seen as our best skill. Feldman notes the greats pnr chemistry between Drummond and Jackson but then goes on to mockingly say “but that requires the lane not to be clogged by another big man” aka Griffin.
- Casey getting paid as a difference maker but hasn’t done anything which he gets credit for when discussing his teams past successors. Nick Nurse was noted as the person responsible for last seasons improvements.
- Feldman predicted 40-42 wins making the 8th seed and Nate predicts 36 wins and not more than 50% chance to make the playoffs. Worst case scenario 30 wins and best case 47.
All in all nothing surprising, seemed like a very reasonable and unbiased view of the team.

Wow, good synopsis of a fairly long podcast. I suppose I'd add that there was some support for the notion that Kennard might be in the running for more minutes and maybe the start by the end of the coming season. I'm not sure I agree, but they mention it. There was some discussion of the little heralded importance of Jon Leuer whether he's great or not. Also, an admission that Dre and Blake actually played fairly well together, although it makes sense you're going to try to keep one or the other on the floor most times.

Is Blake really our second best 3pt shooter with guys like Bullock, Kennard, GR and even Jackson? Obviously he’s behind Kennard and Bullock. Jackson I would think can shoot it better if he stays healthy to keep in rythym

Starting line up is projected to be Drummond/Griffin/Stanley/Bullock/Jackson. Griffin is the 2nd best 3 point shooter, only Bullock is an above average 3 point shooter.

I didn't listen, but I haven't heard Dunc'd on say one positive thing about the franchise in several years of listening, so I can't imagine it was anything different. Not that I'm saying there has been anything positive to say in several years.

Oh he’s talking about in the starting lineup. I actually think Blake should shoot it better this year but I would still bring Johnson off the bench too put in another 3point shooter in the starting lineup.

Yes I agree. I would start Kennard and Bullock and bring SJ and GRIII off the bench.
