I never, ever expected the Packers to be able to get anything for Hundley.

I decided it was just going to be another year of oh well he's still on his rookie deal so we've got to keep him.

Now that Gutey has made his third player trade since he took over, it is finally starting to sink in that the Packers can actually improve their team outside of the draft.

What a great feeling, great trade, and, along with Aaron signing, what a great day.

Ya agreed. If not for having TT locked in a dark room somewhere in the bowels of Lambeau, we would not be even entertaining all this mack talk.

But here we are, wheeling in dealing with a new GM, and making us think it's actually possible to upgrade via trades and/or free agency. Gute is using every avenue available to improve this team. Exciting times.

Over the cap has the numbers on rodgers contract. Here are the cap hits by year:

https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/green-bay-packers

2018 - 8.9 million base + 11.5 million prorated bonus +500k workout = 20.9 mil cap hit
2019 - 1.1 mil base + 11.5 mil prorated bonus + 13.9 mil roster bonus = 26.5 mil cap hit
2020 - 21.10 base + 11.5 prorate = 32.6 mil cap hit
2021 - 22 mil base + 11.5 prorate = 33.5 mil cap hit - can cut and save 10.5 mil
2022 - 25.5 base + 11.5 prorate = 37 mil cap hit - can cut and save 25.5 mil
2023 - 25.5 base = 25.5 cap hit - can cut and save 25.5 mil

Looks like packers didnt clear 15 mil this year with the restructure (unless over the cap is incorrect).

Packers cap room:

2018 - 10.8 mil
2019 - 32.5 mil
2020 - 64.355 mil
2021 - N/A due to collective bargaining agreement expiration.
2022- N/A due to collective bargaining agreement expiration.
2023 - N/A due to collective bargaining agreement expiration.

If my numbers are correct, we did not reduce his cap number by 15.4 million.

Cowherd just throws crap out to get fan response. He's more adept than many at "chumming the waters"; but there's little substance in any of his takes.

Every body that thought there was any possibility of his cap hit being reduced by 15 million for this comming season should take a deductive reasoning class

Can't stand the guy. Hot take artist with a grating voice. He's on the list of guys like skip that apparently have a following but I just don't get it with the amount of good smart content that is available these days.

Guys like Cowherd and Bayless still have listeners because casual fans are still drawn to GUYS WHO TALK LIKE THEY'RE STUCK ON CAPS LOCK ALL THE TIME. Otherwise, networks like ESPN and FS1 would be out of business.
