Liverpool were outplayed for 30 minutes in the first half and most of the second.

Sounds of sour grapes to me.

Of Leicester's four shots on goal, how many were that challenging to the defense? Excluding Alisson's mistake, in which the Leicester player places two hands on the keeper and shoves him while sticking a foot in for the ball, one. In all likelihood, the match should have been over in the first ten minutes. Salah missed his chance while Mane took his.

Congrats, though, you won the time of possession battle.

You were outplayed. I was shocked at how ordinary we made you look.

You can look at it 2 ways I guess. On one hand.....we came to their house, and beat them in a 2-0 shutout. But for a daft moment from our keeper. But our defense was not exposed...broken down, or anything like that. There was no keen buildup from their offense that took us apart. It was a stupid moment, and if not for that.....we gave nothing to them. We got our 2 goals, and move on.

I'm looking at the Soccernet breakdown here....and I see 51% to 49% in possession 12shots on goal to 10. So not really this vast 1-sided affair. Not really wanting to read the stats....there's much more to a game. But 51-49 is hardly controlling the game.

All woulda coulda shoulda's at the end. I think we shoulda walked away with our 4th clean-sheet.

This was our first 'real victory' this year. Good team on the road. We got Tot next. Chelsea and Man-C are coming up soon as well. For those who think we are a paper tiger...and for those who think this is our year...the rubber is meeting the road.

We didn't play our best. But, if Alisson doesn't have that gaffe, the game ends 2-0. Leicester had possession but couldn't do anything with it. Without Vardy, they are no threat.

LC played great really impressive. With that said, they were an Allisson gaffe and a Salah wide open miss from losing 3-0 at home. If Liverpool brings their A game against LC at Anfield, it might turn into a real blowout.

Regardless, talking specifically about Liverpool, they were simply outworked in the midfield. They were just a few steps late on every loose ball and every closeout. Not sure of the root cause. Liverpool was almost parking the bus and playing the counter at times. Might have been a strategic plan by Klopp to get a lead and then sit back.

To be clear, having watched all Liverpool's matches this season, I was of the opinion that you were a class above everyone (and on a par with Mancity) before the Leicester game. That is why I was so surprised at your performance.

Maybe there is less of a distance between the top two and everyone else in the league than it appeared. Certainly having watched Arsenal I think that there is a good chance of at least two of the top six missing out on Europe at the end of the season.

Can't help but feel like we are on a different level with Keita starting in the midfield over Hendo...Hes constantly winning balls and can push the ball forward to free up 1 of the front 3 and allow Trent AA or Robertson to push up as well.

We haven't played well all season bar West Ham just like all the other big clubs. Gonna be a while after the WC for everyone to find their groove.

Didn't play well away at Leicester and got the three points. Years past that's an L or a draw. I'll take it.

He won't come till the window, right? I'm game for more talent. Seems like Klopp is definitely attracting better talent over and over.

It'd probably be a summer move but if we give them some money in January maybe they're game to let him go as they'd be losing him on a free this summer anyway.

I hate to piss off PSG though as Barca found out. Watch them make ridiculous bids for Mane and Salah this summer lol

True that.

I read an article that Barca were gearing up for a 300mil bid for Salah. I think that's a little unreal, but that's what I read. Anyhow...if PSG wanna get in on that and go for a cool half-bil.....I think I'm game. Klopp needs to make some statement about how Barca always get their man....and the other teams can't match. Make sure PSG read that.

Don't get me wrong....I love me some Salah. But half a bil??? Can buy alot with that.

They'd have to give me Ousmane Dembele back who Klopp's been obsessed with for 3 years now. His peak is probably bigger than Mbappe's which is insane to even suggest.

deserved victory today.

Salah is not on form and being too greedy.

Mané is hot

Firmino is a wonderful team player

Wijnaldum and Virgil played great.

Allison cannot kick long.

Salah and Mane need to sort themselves out. Sick of their selfishness.

Ridiculous! We play PSG in 3 days, Southhampton 4 days after that. Followed by Chelsea 4 days after that in some fu***ing thing called a Carabao cup. Then we turn around and play Chelsea only 3 days later in a game that really matters! 4 days later its Napoli in the CL....4 days after that its Man-C.

And then we get 13 days off. Great scheduling. I hope we dump our bench into this 'Carabao cup' nonsense.

Screw the CL this year. Give the minutes to the 2nd squad and let them run with it. If we're still alive in feb/march....we can re-evaluate depending on our PL position.

At this point I'm whining (at least I admit it!) but I love how both times we play Man-C it's the last game of a marathon.

It was awful today. Liverpool had countless breakaways where either Mane or Salah had an easy pass and instead they kept it and screwed it up. Liverpool could have scored 5+ today.

Not entirely a bad thing. You don't want to peak to early. Give something to Klopp to grind over.

Well, not playing more than a few minutes today:
Henderson, Fabinho, Shaqiri, Lallana, Matip, Lovren, Clyne, Moreno, Solanke, Sturridge

Klopp already said there would be heavy rotation. These guys better step up.

.....

Last note, Andy Robertson is a god. Since he has been playing, I'm not sure he has made a mistake and his passing is fantastic as well as his work rate. Van Dijk gets all the credit for the defensive turnaround. While he has been awesome, Robertson has been too. The left side of Liverpool's defense is like a wall.

I'm not sure the kid will ever get any sort of awards/recognition....but he fires in wicked crosses. He's really been great for us.

Sturridge gets the nod today. Interesting.

Well I did want to see Klopp rest guys. Hopefully there are more starters out today.
