I'm with Cowboy on this. It's a bit ridiculous to join a new crew and then call out of the mainstays for a fight. That being said, it seems like Cowboy and Wink never really saw eye to eye () on since the Jackson-Wink merger and with Jackson stepping back and Wink turning the place into a puppy mill. I can see why Wink would take the side of the new blood and someone that is paying him.
It's tough to know what kind of arrangement they have but it does seem to me like Wink made a business decision to take on a younger guy, who's bringing money in (paying for training, I gathered), hasn't hit his peak yet and if successful could bring in more money going forward while Cowboy is a bit over the hill at this point in his career and won't have the longevity.
Winkle has always come across like a huge douche. I think it was when he was on Rogan that he kept mentioning how he is a "capitalist" - he kept pushing that concept with some weird attitude. Well, at least it now seems he's true to his word. The man is looking for dollars above all.
Not to mention the drug use of many Jacks-Winkle fighters. There were cases that the trainers could simply not have missed. Like the EPO use (Ali B) and guys like Alistair, Mir, JJ etc. (not to mention suspects-as-heck Rashad, Marquardt, etc). How do you take money from clean fighters (Kennedy), all the while helping to maintain a status quo of dirty fighters?
