Yeah, there's no way Wash could have fit Mack under the cap without giving up multiple players. It basically took a team with a QB on a rookie contract - like the Bears - to be able to afford to pay Mack. It wasn't John Gruden's fault that Oakland couldn't pay him. Frankly, I think Oakland made a good trade. I expect those Bears first rounders will be high.

This season... I like the Skins D-line, the LBers are ok, but I'm not confident with the secondary. Norman's slow, they don't really have a good 2nd CB, they have 3 rookie CB's, and while Nicholson might eventually be top notch, the safeties as a group right now are just ok and lack depth. Btw, I liked the Brantley acquisition. It gives them 3 big young DT's that were all highly rated in college. Settles looks like a steal. The team should be much better against the run - though they might have growing pains with tackling.

Offensively, I like the team except at WR - where they really don't have an established starter.

Overall, it's an 8-8 team that could do better if injuries go their way, but every team they face has a high quality QB that can pick apart a bad secondary.

Which is why I'd have gone with McCoy on a cheap deal.

I'd rather have an elite unit somewhere than to be average everywhere. And this team with Mack and McCoy would be better than our current roster + Smith.

I'll go with 7-9. Gruden gets fired. The carousel continues.

10-6... :) .

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Hard not to like what we saw today.

Total domination... and Smith is such a better all around QB than we’ve had here since, since... since I can’t even remember. Maybe Brad Johnson

The Cardinals were too harmless and Washington's offense had absolutely no rhythm or flow to get too excited about this win.

Not impressed by Gruden's play calling, especially considering how well the running game was working.

I would have liked to see the Skins go downfield some in the second half - I don't think the AZ DB's could cover our receivers. It seemed like we should have put them away much like Baltimore destroyed Buffalo. Other than that - nothing to complain about. Hopefully, our young WR's didn't get hurt too badly with the ankle injuries.

1st down, what does Gruden call?

It's a run. It's always a run.

No idea where he got his reputation as an offensive minded coach.

I'm glad I never follow this team past November, and it looks like fans are finally upset enough about Synder's terribly run organization to continue to show up.

Rams 34 - Cardinals 0

The Cardinals are going to make a lot of defenses look like the legion of boom this season.

I was really happy too that no one showed up. Hopefully it's a product of people being sick of Snyder's **** rather than the weather.

Time to nuke this franchise from orbit. Andy Reid robbed us again, and our homegrown franchise QB is in purple throwing for 500 yds and 4 tds against Aaron Rodgers.

That might be just a bit of an over-reaction. The problem ain't the QB. The starting WR's played like dog sh... er dog crap. He made perftect downfield passes to both in the second quarter - that both dropped. Did I mention Doctson's played like dog crap and the new guy hasn't made any impact? Honestly, I think they'd do better with the last pick in the 2018 draft and the undrafted receiver from Alabama. The first 2 games of the season are like extended preseason. Let's at least wait till game 3 before giving up.

Doctson is trash and I keep forgetting Paul Richardson is even on the team. I'll give them time but that was a pathetic game. Smith is only getting older. Cousins had always scored an offensive touch down in all of his starts, and they couldn't even do that against the colts.

They need him and he would make an immediate impact just like Desean Jackson did.

Jackson was still productive and in his prime - he's still running past DB's. Dez bombed last season and looks like he's on the downside. The old Danny would go after Dez. We don't need the old Danny.

Ideally, there'd be no Dan Snyder at all.
