Know very little about competition, but plan to get into it this year, want to put some money on Juventus winning it all. Wise or not? Who is their keeper?

Group B is the group of death and as a Real Madrid fan, I couldn't be happier with the draw. Barcelona in the toughest group, and we got one of the easier draws.

Group C and Group H look tough as well

Group A and Group F will have great matches throughout the group phase.

Can't wait to kick this off in 2 weeks with Liverpool vs. PSG, Tottenham vs. Inter (remember Bale announcing himself to the world with an insane 2nd half hat trick against them years ago?), Juve vs. Valencia, Real vs. Roma, the return of the Champions League is upon us!

Yeah, great memories. He was also phenomenal in the reverse fixture where we beat them 3-1, perhaps even better. I like to think he'll return to Spurs one day, but with the way he's playing for Real at the minute he looks poised to be a talismanic player for them, so it seems unlikely.

We had that crazy 4-4 aggregate tie in the Europa League with Inter a few years later too.

What are you talking about? Draw with VAR? In last seasons UCL, Real Madrid had to beat the Champions of Italy (Juventus), France (PSG), and Germany (Bayern) in the knockout stages alone. That's after coming through a group with Tottenham and Dortmund.

While Atleti couldn't even beat Qarabag lol. So please go back to crying inside the Metropolitano, at least you'll get to see a champion there this season in the final hahaha

As an Ajax fan I'm happy with this draw.

Bayern is a great team and it's nice to play against Dutch hero Robben. They will probably demolish us in Munich, but our home game against them is the final match in the group. So most likely they are already through to next round and maybe we can steal at least a point against them.

Benfica is one of the better draws for us. Will be two tough matches but we definitely have a chance against them if we continue the way we are playing at the moment.

AEK Athens should be six points for us.

Second place will go between Benfica and us. I'm very confident we will be at least third in the group, but I give us pretty decent chance to advance to next phase.

Anyone who wants to put money on something they know nothing about is pretty stupid in my opinion. I suggest you bet a million on Juve - they have Ronaldo in goal.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

Is there ever really a tough group?

If you can't get through qualification where half the teams qualify, you just aren't good enough.

The competition really doesn't start until the last 8.

I dont want to bet a lot, just a little, so I could watch CL and have team to cheer for.

You don't have to put money on a team in order to watch the CL though...

I will say that this year is wide open, I would think Atlético had a good chance this year given the game they played against Real, but they've been pretty poor in the league so I wouldn't really now how I would rank them now.

Atlético, Real, Barcelona, City, PSG, Bayern, Juve, Liverpool, all of those have a good shot. Should be an entertaining year to watch the CL, a horrible one to bet on a team. Good luck. :D

Personally, when I have no dog in the race in sports, its not very interesting to me. If not for betting, I would probably cheer for Liverpool, but I doubt they have a serious chance, but I dont know much. CL is always more or less wide open, there is never a huge favorite. But thanks for response.

Liverpool has a good shot.

They steamrolled through a lot of teams last season, I think the only team they didn't scored 5 goals against was Real Madrid, in the final, w/o Salah.

With the additions of Fabinho, Keita and Alisson I would have them as one of the top candidates to win it.

Ok thanks. I might have to take a look at those Liverpool odds then, always been my favorite club out of all top teams in football. But I am way below casual fan level, barely watch any games, but I want to get into CL this year.

I was just informed that the broadcast rights in the U.S. are the worst they've been in forever, with only two games (one Tuesday game and one Wednesday game) being shown live on cable on TNT per week. The rest will need to be paid for via Bleacher Report's new app. This is ****.

Serie A (rights now owned by ESPN) did this to me already this season, as they stream the games on ESPN+ (which needs to be paid for) rather than the free watchESPN app.

It is like we are going back in time here. smh
