Many of us are interested in McConnell. Just don't think he's available. Also, its too bad he is a UFA ... that limits the offers the sixers could get because there is no guarantee he would sign up with us.

I think the Sixers could move McConnell, but it’s very unlikely until they see where Fultz is. Assume it’s 10 games in, Fultz looks fine, and you guys could use another ball handler... what offer then?

I think it's unlikely that we go into the season with the group of PGs we have. But if we do, then the only way we'll be looking to trade for McConnell is if Shaq/Okobo/Melton[/Booker/Jackson] don't look up to the task of manning the position. And frankly, I think Shaq may be the better player. Only player with a positive +/- for us last season. TJ, despite being on a winning team, did not have a positive +/-.

I do think it's a fair question to wonder if it's a good idea to add a ball-dominant PG: a big part of my complaint with his most recent tenure was his unwillingness to give up the ball to youngsters for the benefit of their development. But I think with Koko at the helm, Dragic would fit in nicely.

If we like Okobo and Melton, we should not be paying top dollar for a long-term solution at PG. A temporary solution like Dragic would be preferable. But there just aren't a lot of players that fit this description. Rozier and Walker don't. Teodosic's advanced stats don't look good enough for my taste. So as I see it, if we can't nab Dragic on the cheap, I'm in favor of sticking with our current group.

Yeah Dragic's splits are still positive against the West. He's negative against the Pacific at -3.9 but most of that comes from beatdowns by the Warriors (-30 in the two games against them). Overall I like Dragic too as the optimal placeholder at the PG. He can come in and help the team win in his first two years, mentor the young PGs like Nash did for him, and then become the backup or retire.

At that point you are saying he's a third string player on a playoff team who is a UFA on a less than one year loan. A couple of future second round picks maybe. Other wise better to try and sign him next year and not give up anything.

I can't engage with people who think that little of our players. I include plenty of Suns fans in that category.

The fact that they're winning the trade so horrendously is proof that they actually regard the players highly. They'll never admit it but that's how a lot of fans make trade offers.

Why? Because I haven't seen much of this from Jackson or Ayton on instagram. Booker yes. Hell in the Jackson thread people were complaining that he looked skinny.

Question for the board. Is Goran too much of a me first/ scoring point guard to fit properly next to Booker?

I'm divided on this.

Reason why I say yes:

• We need a player who can create his own shot so opposing defenses can't just zero in on Booker
• The obvious connection with our head coach
• Dragic drives with bigs who can spread the floor. I like the idea of having Bender as a back-up C - these guys will make eachother look good (not to mention Ryan Anderson)
• on paper: switching between Booker - Ayton pick & rolls / pops, and Dragic- Ayton pick & rolls / pops could be a nightmare for opposing defenses

Reason why I say no:

• I have some concerns about Dragic and Booker sharing the ball in the back court - although it worked great with Dragic/Doncic
• I don't think he'll come cheap - I'm not willing to give up key young assets for Dragic
• Dragic doesn't really help alleviate many of our concerns from last season: 1. not an elite defensive stopper - where we were dead last, last season 2. He's not the type of elite facilitator that could help improve last year's stagnant offense.
• Trading for Dragic means no max contract in free agency next season - unless he opts out. This is not that much of a concern to me though since I believe we'll explore trade options dangling our pick rather than the free agency market.

Overall, my preference would go for a proven 3&D PG, but for the right price (Chandler, Daniels or Reed + a second rounder) I'd love to see Goran back
