Horford. Best defensive player on the best defensive team, versatile offensive big, portable and playoff-resilient (at least this past year). Best player on the Celtics (yep...)

Of course, this is a projected list for next season and Horford is already 32 while Simmons should be getting better by the minute...but I have Simmons already ahead of him (and Kyrie below Horford), so it makes sense to put him at 21

I went with Horford, but slid my vote to Simmons.

Add Drummond next.

Recency bias is making yall disrespect him to much.

Like wiz and spurs supposed to be two of the best teams in respective confrences coming into the season yet their 'star' arent on the board yet.
Legit if JW or DeRozan drop outa top 25 this stuff is trippy.

The Wiz are legit contenders (though its a slim chance) in the east and their best player hasnt got on the board yet.

If you want the Wizards best player to get voted in, then help me nominate Otto Porter. Also, GTFO with this recency bias argument. Simmons had a better RPM as a rookie than Wall had any of the last 3 seasons. Not just last year. Any of the last three. And Simmons is obviously gonna be a lot better next year.

I dont go off RPM,
I go off the impact the player has on all aspects of the game.
Rebounding isnt that big a thing for a PG honestly so although its nice ben can do it its limited in affect on a game (unless its offensive boards, which he averaged 1.8)
Playmaking, then are as good as eachother, both also use their gravity when driving extremely well.
Simmons uses length and Wall uses speed to dominate defensively.

It all aspects they nearly equal,
Except Simmons got shut down in a playoff series against Cs whom the year before Wall managed to take to 7 games (the Cs had changed drastically, tho Wall was marked by Bradley whom simmons didnt have to deal with)
And simmons has a non-existent jumper, Walls isnt great, but it adds so much more depth to his offensive game.

Overall coming into this season Wall is the better player,
The season after this one I have next to no doubt Simmons will be the better player but atm its Wall.

You don’t have to like RPM and you don’t have to trust Simmons in the playoffs. I’m just telling you that it’s not “recency bias” making people judge Wall lower when impact stats have Simmons last season as better than any of Wall’s last three, and Simmons is expected to make a massive leap going from a rookie to a sophomore.

SImmons (crazy to think someone is pushing the top 20 after their rookie season).

Add Griffin next.

He should definitely be coming up pretty soon, but I don’t know where you come up with “shameful” after how bad he was in last year’s playoffs.

Think I would go with Simmons, Mitchell and Aldridge for one, two and three rank here. Klay Thompson is great, but I don't rank him so high now that he is only the third option on offense. In addition, considering that Green, Curry and Durant are all great passers, I wonder if Klay Thompson is getting more uncontested looks at threes than any other player in the league?

Simmons was only the third leading scorer on his team last season as well, but unlike Thompson, he runs the team, and I think this season Simmons is going to be a threat for a triple double nearly every time he steps on the court.

The best player of the Celtics last year: Al Horford.

Easily between Horford and Klay. Don't understand the adoration in votes for Simmons with no explanations or how you could even choose a guy after one year who runs the point but can't even hit a three in the modern era. Top 40? Yes. Top 20? No.

Who think the Wiz are one of the best teams in the East? I wouldnt put them at even money to even get HCA.

I wanna go with Horford, but he has no chance at winning. It would be a crime if Klay got in before Horford/Simmons/Wall

I'm going with Simmons. I can't forget how he took the reins of the team after Embiid was out for the last 19 games of the RS and led that team to a 3rd seed. Most impressive for most; very impressive for a rookie. I don't think any other player listed up for a vote could have done that.

I think the fact that Klay plays in such a good system has made people underrate him, specially since Durant arrived. The reason why I'm voting for him is because even though he's a bit streaky, he's always a threat for any team, and I won't easily forget how many times he's bailed out GSW in the playoffs, but in a quiet manner that doesn't tend to get noticed.

Also people wildly underestimate his scoring versatility. You'd think the dude can't even dribble.

I got Mitchell.

But if it's between Klay and Simmons, I'll go with Ben.

Ben Simmons looks to me like he could already be a top 15 player in the league by the end of next year.

Klay Thompson has hit is peak, we know we are getting from him.

Anyways, I feel Ben Simmons is better already. Klay loses a ton of efficiency after the first dribble, doubt he could lead a team as the go to guy.

Top 100 is pushing it. I did ask for top 50 as I feel top 25 is a bit too low.

I chose John Wall, still think he is the guy here. He has to get back to 1 year ago though for me to keep him in the top 6 PG's in the league.

See, I went with Klay because he's the best in the league at doing what he does. And this is where some subjectivity comes in. Is Simmons better at being a playmaker than Klay is at being a scorer? What Klay provides on both sides of the court is just as valuable as what Simmons does.

Klay’s defense is a little overrated. It’s definitely not as good as Simmons’. Klay’s DRPM last year was +0.13 and that was a career high. Simmons’ was +1.45.
