How many times has nate and SD20 come on here to post groundbreaking news that was going to "shake the political world" or "heads are going to roll." They are so gullible. Hey nate, you still tracking that FoxNews breaking news about Sidney Blumenthal colluding with Russians? Better get on that bruh.

Why are they so committed to helping energy companies at the expense of the environment?
Yahoo NewsTrump administration rushes to lease federal lands
The Department of Interior is quietly preparing to offer hundreds of thousands of acres of public land for leasing to energy companies, a move critics have charged is being undertaken with minimal public input and little consideration for ecological and cultural preservation.
According to data compiled by environmental groups, the Bureau of Land Management will put 2.9 million acres up for potential leasing in the next four months. Because the land in question — in states including New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona — lacks designation as a national park or monument, it can be used for commercial purposes such as mining for minerals and drilling for oil and gas.
Supporters say that bolstering the extractive industries will ensure energy independence for the United States, though shifting energy preferences and falling oil prices appear to undermine that assertion.
Aware that leasing land across the West could prove highly unpopular, the bureau canceled a 30-day comment period on any proposed lease, and the time to appeal a proposed lease already in the works was reduced to a mere 10 days. During the Obama administration, the total time for both comment and appeal had been 60 days.
“Were operating under a new guidance that has radically cut out opportunities for public input,” says Culver of the Wilderness Society.
“Why in the world, for a short-term gain, would you jeopardize those places by doing something stupid?” wonders Walt Dabney, who served as a park ranger for many decades.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Despite both having such horrible political views - Trump and Cruz seem to have very little in common.
Trump does have some level of personal appeal. Cruz I guess has some type of intellectual appeal.
I don't really see how voters leaning towards Beto based on personality are going to somehow be charmed by one Trump Rally into voting for Cruz. If they like Cruz's ideological purity, they might be more likely to stay home. Maybe Trump brags about the economy better than Cruz, does but that might be about it.

The economic growth Trump is always touting comes at a cost.

The House and the Senate will turn blue this November.
I am cautiously optimistic about the House, but the map is favorable to the Republicans I think they hold on. Even if Beto wins, 1 or 2 mild upsets for the Republicans can at least keep them at 50 seats(which is effectively a majority with the VP).

You're assuming that the Senate is safe for Republicans because all the pundits and media is still thinking by the old rules. They survey the same data set of people not considering the new surge of new voters that will support Democrats and Republicans who will sit at home. Democratic primary wins that turned up new voters were are harbinger of things to come. All Democrats need is 51-49.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXII
VOXTrump’s approval rating just sank in 8 polls
The new numbers mark the president’s lowest approval rating in six months
President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have dropped precipitously in eight major polls, hitting their lowest point in six months. Trump’s declining popularity with voters outside of the Republican Party may put Republicans’ hopes of holding the House in jeopardy.
Eight polling entities — ABC News/Washington Post, CNN, Gallup, IBD/TIPP, the Kaiser Family Foundation, Quinnipiac University, Grinnell College/Selzer & Co, and Suffolk University — give the president an average approval rating of 38 percent, a drop of 3 points from Trump’s previous approval polling average, 41 percent.
Since August 28 — just a week after former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort was convicted on financial fraud charges and Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to eight federal crimes — the Trump presidency has been besieged by controversies, including an anonymous New York Times op-ed from a senior White House staffer and a new book by Watergate reporter Bob Woodward that depicts abject chaos in the White House.
