Khabibs history indicates that he’s pretty close to being a natural WW, so I think it has some interest though GSP would be the clear favourite.
I think this was addressed to me so I'll answer...like the Conor fight, I'm only interested if GSP/Khabib is at LW.
I don't care to see Georges fight non WWs at WW, personally. I actually think that would reflect somewhat poorly on him. Doesn't he claim he doesn't want to fight Woodley because he wants to make history and do something that has never been done? I'm not sure if fighting LWs at 170 meets that definition.
I don't think he ever addressed Woodely specifically, but I believe he said he doesn't care to fight anymore, but if he does he wants fights that excite him and the fights that excite are fights that will build his legacy as well as pull in money, though the money is secondary the former. When it comes to legacy, Bisping made obvious sense because it allowed him to be a two division champ, which puts him in an elite group.
A three division champ though is an incredible feat. Conor or Khabib makes sense. The idea that someone can fluctuate between three divisions at a championship level is incredible. Look at Conor, who is by all accounts a world class level talent. Two divisions was doable for him, but the third division, he lost and then barely beat a fringe, smaller, top 10 talent at 170. It's not easy.
Understandably, the optics would have looked better had he gone from 150-170-185 or even 170-150-185 as 185 would appear to be the hardest challenge, but whatever approach he takes to getting those three titles is incredible to me, and I doubt any other fighter in the world could match that feat.
As well, I don't think it looks poorly on TJ if he goes down to fight Mouse, or Silva if he had gone down to fight GSP. In fact I think it looks more impressive because the person going out of weight class is the one taking the risk. They are entering the unknown cardio area, having questions about their strength and endurance being tested.
I dunno, but whatever way you slice it, I can't see going out of division as reflecting poorly against someone.
