Jayrone Elliot is still out there and he’s easily better than Fackrell.

Again, and I feel like I have said this in a lot of threads, Jayrone's non-preseason stats are actually worse than Fackrell's.

In 352 regular season snaps with the Pack, Elliot had 4 sacks and 40 tackles. In 611 snaps Fackrell has 5 sacks and 26 tackles. Please explain how Elliot’s numbers are worse than Fackrell’s.

Because the fact he was on the field means that he earned more playing time. He actually has fewer years with the Packers than Elliot. He is also, easily, superior in coverage. People want to think Elliot isn't just a guy, but he's just a guy. Otherwise any of the other teams would have picked him up, and he wouldn't have gotten cut by the Saints.

They're both scrubs
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Elliot is just a guy, it’s just that Fackrell is less than just a guy. That’s my point. Elliot is a fringe NFL player while Fackrell is a fringe Arena league player.

He didn’t “earn” any playing time. He was a higher draft pick at a position with no depth so he was naturally given more opportunities. Also, are Fackrell’s coverage skills really the hill you want to die on in this argument? We’re not talking about a guy who’s even a below average coverage player at his position. He’s never shown any natural ability as a cover guy as is evidenced by our drafting of Jones and Burks the last two years to fill that gaping hole. Elliot isn’t a good player, but he’s easily better than Fackrell and there’s no way that can logically be argued against.

Maybe it's not Jayrone or Zombo or Willie Young, but there are definitely guys on the street that provide more of a pass rush than Fackrell gives you. It was my one big gripe of the offseason (OLB) and I'm still surprised that Gute hasn't done anything to address the position. It's a depth issue, because when you had Clay laying an absolute egg last Sunday, the coaching staff still didn't want Fackrell out there for more than a handful of snaps. When 50% of your outside pass rush is being a complete non-factor, then it's definitely an issue.

We can only pray Perry somehow stays healthy all year cause, as you say, there is absolutely nothing behind him
