This comment startled me. As to Harris "his defense has been one of many reasons why the Nuggets have had one of the NBA's worst defensive efficiency marks the last few seasons; Harris had the worst defensive rating among NBA rotation players during the 2016-17 season."
Do you agree with this? To my eyes, Harris is an excellent defender who can be asked to guard the opposing teams penetrating guard. That puts hims often at the point of attack. What ever stats Reid Forgrave thinks justifies his conclusion is lost on me. In reality, Harris is probably the Nuggets second best defender (next to Millsap).
I having a hard time understanding why Harris is a reason that the Nuggets are bad defensively.

I'd say it's simply a matter of the Nuggets' defensive scheme. Malone has the guards trailing the ball handler over picks, leaving their man to have a free line to the bucket, unless our center leaves his man with a free line to the bucket. Our defense tends to have holes and Harris, by nature, tries to cover for his teammates, leaving his man open. Since our team is terrible on help defense ...
I've seen other so-called experts that call Harris an elite defender and one-of-the-best wing defender and so forth. I'm not going to let this article bother me. Time will show the truth one way or the other.

Re: Garry Harris CBS view
Harris is our 2nd best defender, after Millsap, and one of four players which have nothing with our poor defense (add Jokic and Plumlee).
Denver DEFRTG was 108.8 last season, 26th in the league. But when Harris, Millsap, and Jokic all three are on the floor, our DEFRTG was 102.5, which would be #5 in the league. But problem is that Millsap and Harris played just 25 games together last season, so we are not too much in the position to have three good defensive players together in starting lineup. Last season Harris-Millsap-Jokic are together on the floor for less than 500 minutes, and this season it should be over 1500, which should be the notable impact on our defense for sure. All teams (except Houston) which SG is TOP2 offensive option have big match-up problem with Denver last season because of tough 1-on-1 Harris defense.

I dont know, entire perimeter defense is awful, easy to penetrate I think he's better defender than Murray and Barton but still not that good on defense.

Re: Garry Harris CBS view
Eye test, Harris should be a better defender. I just said this recently but there is no excuse for this roster to be a bottom 5 defense. That's just terrible coaching. The Knicks who played Enes Kanter and a bunch of fringe NBA players had a better defensive rating.
