We'd need to dump Noah or Tim wholesale still, so that's multiple 1sts as a result

That Minn would take both Timmy and Lee always seemed like a crazy idea to me unless we gave up a lot more....it would probably take at least a first just to get rid of them for any expiring

I wouldnt mind a trade for Jimmy, but hats off to the front office if they pass and stay fully committed to their plan

To me the Wolves are in a terrible place. If your two young franchise stars are bumping heads with the star veteran over work habits that's a huge issue. To me that says the TWovles aren't going anywhere until those two guys change their attitudes. I'm sure Butler may be a little over the top and/or harsh, but these are professionals I do not want their work ethics questioned if I'm a GM/TP.
Totally. The way Wiggins' camp is handling this is particularly unprofessional and concerning.
According to Isola, is the Knicks front office currently not holding itself accountable?
I think the pause on guys like Thibs and JVG are they are not collaborative and they do not value any input from the front office. They value Chinese walls and separation and have an old school mentality of the front office should stay upstairs and the coaches downstairs. And likewise, that mentality is self-defeating as they do not mesh or bond with their players. They have a taskmaster mentality.
Where as the new generation of players value coaches like Fiz who is just "one of the guys" yet still is able and willing to hold them accountable. It's a new day...and for media as well which is why Isola lost his day job.
In hindsight, I think Knicks mgmt got it right by staying away from Thibs, JVG, and Bud.

I see Butler getting traded to the Nets and recruiting Kyrie there in the summer which makes the Nets good, but not championship contender good IMO.
I see the Knicks dumping Courtney Lee before the deadline, signing Kemba this off-season and adding a top 5 prospect in the draft.

That tweet is over 2 years old so it doesnt have any relevance now. But I agree that coaches like Fizz are far more likely to reach today's players and get a positive response over the "old school" guys like JVG and Thibs

Fat Kat is having a spot of fun. Look at the tweet date.
I posted in the Around thread the other day that in that group of coaches none of them (Hornacek included) really turned up roses. Blatt, Vogel, Thibs, Horns... Nate McMillan has had some success. Go figure.
Fiz is definitely more in the collaborative mode of coaches as opposed to silos of Front Office, Coaching, and Players. I agree that there's a lot of upside in that approach but it's not without risks. You can tell from the press conference that Fiz still expects to be the top voice in the locker room which can be a tough transition from buddy-buddy when it needs to happen. Hopefully he learned some things from his time with Memphis.

Idk man. I think id take kemba on a similar contract as lowry with one of Cam/Zion/Romeo/RJ/Little over a broken down jimmy butler and injury proned kyrie on two max contracts.

If we're not signing one of Kyrie/KD/Kawhi, we shouldn't give out any more than a 2 year deal to keep a max slot for 2021TheGreenArrow wrote:Jeff Van Gully wrote:NYG wrote:I see Butler getting traded to the Nets and recruiting Kyrie there in the summer which makes the Nets good, but not championship contender good IMO.

if a Butler trade happened, you would want to keep Frank so you'd have 2, two way players on the Roster (that is if/when Franks offense develops). You'd have a lock down defender at the 1 & the 2. That is scary as hell.

TGA- i hear that. kemba is a deserved all-star. i just don't know if he is a need and if he's just a tad outside of our time window at 28. kyrie at 26 is appealing to me because he's entering his prime (health permitting). i do fear a STAT situation with him. even KD and kawhi scare me. KD is older and that foot is a time bomb IMO. and kawhi is already seriously injured and weird af. iono bout him.

Re: OT: Jimmy asked for Trade !!
lee, frank, and a 1st (if it's protected) is a pretty fair offer. as others have said though they have to take timmy.
what if we took dieng & jimmy for timmy, lee, 1st. does that leave enough money for the 2nd max after stretching noah ? lowers the cost to us by us taking a bad player maybe. gives us a center until mitch is ready to start full time. just something to think about.
