Justise, Kelly, Josh and Dragic makes Espn top 100

#96 Winslow
Image

Miami Heat | F

Previous rank: NR

Projected RPM wins: 2.6

Winslow was drafted in the 2015 lottery as an athletic teenager with all the tools to develop into a star. While he hasn't put up monster box score stats, Winslow quietly improved as a shooter last season (career-high 38 percent from 3) while becoming one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA (10th in defensive RPM among small forwards). He should continue to develop into one of the better 3-and-D threats in the league. -- André Snellings

#88 Kelly Olnyk
Image

Miami Heat | C
Previous rank: NR
Projected RPM wins: 3.2

Olynyk is a 7-footer who works from the 3-point line in, with a sharp pump fake and a sneaky first step that stymies opposing bigs for just a split second. Last season, Olynyk averaged 1.14 points per chance when driving to the basket, according to Second Spectrum research (including playoffs). That was tied with Kevin Durant for the second most in the NBA, with only Stephen Curry averaging more (minimum 200 drives). -- V. Johnson

#67 Josh
Image

Miami Heat | G

Previous rank: NR

Projected RPM wins: 4.7

After averaging career highs in several different categories -- including games, points, assists and rebounds -- what Richardson did best goes beyond the box score. According to Second Spectrum research, opposing players shot 41.6 percent when Richardson was the closest defender, tied for fifth best among 100 players to defend at least 700 shots last season.

The only players with a lower percentage? Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, Al Horford and Ben Simmons. -- Williams

#61 Goran Dragic
Image

Miami Heat | G

Previous rank: 47

Projected RPM wins: 3.0

Despite seeing small dips in his numbers across the board, Dragic made the 2018 All-Star team, his first appearance in the game. Dragic was the third guard in Heat history to make an All-Star team, joining Dwyane Wade and Tim Hardaway. -- Williams

Somebody at ESPN is high. Two guys that can't start for this team are in the top 100 in the NBA? The Heat have two players that could reasonably be included in the top 100 ... Whiteside and Dragic, and Whiteside who is our best talent by far, has been playing like garbage and getting benched.

To be fair the top 100 is more of a projection for the upcoming season, its not a legacy list. There's no surprise that Winslow, Josh, and Olynyk are ranked considering they were hot to close the year while Hassan was M.I.A.

Players who are not consistent can't be your best players by far. GORAN is consistent compared to Hassan. He's our best player.

Kelly is a defensive liability but he can play. The list isn't based on talent. Those 4 guys are 4 of the most consistent players in a lot of statically categories. Kelly and Winslow are 2 of our only plus players. Winslow can definitely be starter on lot of teams just not at the 4. Unless he can stay aggressive and continue hit the 3 above 35%. At 22 why do people think he can't better. :banghead:

Wade is 50 years old in basketball years and Hassan picks and chooses when to show up. That does not sit well with basketball analyst.

I didn't say that Whiteside is by far our best player, I said that he by far our best talent. And he is.

I know the list isn't based on talent. I said that Whiteside and Dragic were the only two players we have that could reasonably be included in the top 100. Dragic because he is definitely a top 100 player, and Whiteside because he's top 50 when he has his **** together.

No one else on this team is a top 100 player. Richardson is next in line, and he couldn't crack 13 points a game on a team that needed someone to step up. If he takes another step forward this season, then we can talk top 100.

You really think we have 4 of the top 100 players in the NBA?

This team doesn't win on talent or skill, we win on doggedness.

Who cares how many top 100 players do you have, if you don't have one top 25 player. In other words the difference between 88th best player and 138th best player is insignificant.

It's ridiculous that Hassan couldn't make the Top 100 in any list. He did have a bad year and decline but he was troubled with injuries.

James Johnson not making the Top 100 is even more ridiculous. Possibly one of the Top 10 most underrated players in the game.

Let's face it ESPN top 100 means absolutely nothing and is simply clickbait for basketball morons.

That applies to anything ESPN related.

I think SI top 100 is better. That being said it's far from perfect.

If Wade was really better than Dragic, he'd be pleasuring LeBron in LA right now.

Return to Miami Heat
