Jimmy Butler has been granted permission to not participate in media day with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.
Butler also will not be available for on-court activities at the start of training camp.
Butler requested a trade and the front office of the Wolves is resisting the idea of trading him while owner Glen Taylor appears determined to move him.
