Sorgi, Stocco, Stave, Tolzien, Bollinger, Bevell, even a guy like Donovan is fine. We're probably never going to have a top 10 type pick at QB and it would obviously be really helpful if Hornibrook wasn't a statue.
However BYU averaged nearly 7 yards per carry. We, behind the supposedly best offensive line in the country averaged 4.6 from our running backs. I don't remember our receivers creating much separation either.
Yea, the OL has been disappointing so far this year.
It's not just that BYU controlled the Badgers run game the way it did. In the first two games vs weak defenses, it was more the great skill of Taylor i thought in racking up so many yards vs the OL consistently opening up big holes for him to run through.
Just imagine if Taylor hadn't come to Wisconsin. None of the other backs on the team are explosive big play types who can turn a little crease into huge gains. I'm not saying that there isn't skill on this current OL, but Taylor's ability to turn 5-6-7 yard runs into 15-20 yard gains and even longer, it helps make it seem like the line is dominating games with gaudy rushing totals.
