I'm starting to get irrationally excited for this season. Fatlever needs to talk some sense into me.

MKG will hit 4 3s in a row, and the excitement will begin

Well let me state for the record; we will be fortunate, lucky, to even be in the hunt for the last playoff spot. Too much to pull together with a new coach, new non-negotiables that won’t fit for a while, and a fragile team that STILL has only one star player.

I am excited to see what happens, and I have more hope than previous years. But this league is tough.

IF Batum at the 3 becomes a real player again AND Monk is a breakout scorer AND Cody stays healthy all year AND Frank finds consistency AND Hyphen finds a decent shot AND Bridges and Graham are rookie phenoms,......we may have something!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I don't know, I feel a lot more hopeful about this team and the new, fast paced style that Borrego talked about playing in the news conference. We have tremendous depth on this team. The Hornets are basically 2-3 deep at all positions with actual NBA caliber players for once and if we can get out and run, pressure more on D and whip the ball around quickly we can wear teams out. It sounds like the team has great chemistry again and that will help a lot as they transition towards modern NBA ball movement.

I think Batum comes back strong and plays like he did 2 years ago without the injury and Dwight holding him back.
Kemba is still on top of his game. Plus, he really wants to be here and that means something.
Monk and Lamb can likely get buckets at the 2 spot and run.
Cody, Frank and Willy are a good, young core of bigs with different strengths. Biz can be a tough guy when needed. That's a lot of size with skills.
Bridges should be nice sooner then later. MKG may be more useful the bench at PF as a defensive stopper. Marv is a serviceable vet and good guy type.
Parker should be a better back up at point then we have had since Lin plus he brings another respected voice to help guide the transition to the "Spurs" style of ball.
Graham and Bacon have interesting potential and speed.

If it gels quickly and we avoid bad injuries we could make the second round. As an added bonus, this squad is once again likeable and should play a style of ball that is much more entertaining and fast paced this year.
