I pragmatically understand the Schoop choice (although could end up regretting it) because Shaw is poor against lefties and lacks defensive range.
But Perez should not be starting over Arcia at this point in the season. In addition to the superior defense, Arcia has a .700 OPS this month. And he was in similar form last month. Punished for that bone-headed base-running and choice to bunt with a runner on 3rd? I don't think this is the time.
Irrelevant as it pertains to the decision whether it works out in the same way that it was that Hader allowed 3 runs last night.
CCs been doing this all year. Getting everyone rest and Shaw as you said is batting .200 against lefties.
