Nice recovery, at least we can have him face Carpenter again and if any trouble happens at that point it's probably bullpen time.

Near homer-->hard hit single-->walk. That's the point at which Gio should have been pulled. Players were having comfortable AB's against him and he was already in trouble. But Counsell didn't even have anyone up. And he still didn't after the homer. Brewers have a 40-man roster and are deep in starter types. Why not call upon Woodruff or Guerra at that point? Counsell doesn't have a good feel for when starters are falling apart.

It's not fine if they can continue to score runs with outs. Always of the mind you should at least get extra runs when you're in that situation, and hits are bonuses.
