i have been so curious about what happenend to ivan drago after the fight. so, i hope this gives us rocky nerds a taste.

confession: i'm such a rocky nerd that i almost bought the "drago" fan fiction book. but i had to chill on that. heard it's good tho.

Never saw Creed 1. I grew sick of so many Rocky movies I just viewed Creed as Rocky 12 or whatever number they were at.

I’ll try and watch the first one this week, saw it has stellar ratings

seriously. give us one more creed before killing off the stallion. loving his new life in the fight game.

i cried like a damn baby during rocky balboa and creed.

i can't face that speech to his son in rocky balboa with a straight face. ever. just like i can't watch the jimmy v ESPYs speech.

stuart scott got me too because we all had a feeling it was going to be his jimmy v moment.

Milo Ventimiglia coming back as Rocky's son doesn't give me a good feeling about Rocky surviving this one. Never really had the sport or the city of Philly in him thanks to Rocky's shadow and pretty much only was only with Rocky's camp vs Mason Dixon because it was his last fight. He also moved all the way to Vancouver so I think him coming back might only be for Rocky's funeral.

My love for this new Creed series and really the Rocky franchise as a whole is the character building. How much of Adonis is Apollo? How much is Rocky?

all great points. ugh. i'm ready, but i'm not ready.

i'm happy stallone is back on the writing team. creed was excellent without him, but IMO stallone hasn't missed yet in this series. even III and V which so many have panned for plot have some important stuff in the way of character development.

people hate rocky V, but i thought that was SO real and SO appropriate. III was weakly written, but the apollo/rocky relationship needed a new turn. IV is textbook 80s propaganda/action, but it was awesome at it.

i thought at this point drago and rocky would really only have nothing but respect for each other.

Spoiler:
there was no reason for rocky to have defeated drago in rocky IV other than pure, indomitable will. "he is like a piece of iron." then at the end drago clearly has an existential crisis in declaring that he too is a warrior who fights for himself. so after that fight where two monsters gave all they had, why beef? both lost a lot immediately after.

i suppose drago jr. is the embodiment of ivan's rage post-failure. again, can't wait to see that part of the story.
