Absolutely wouldn't bite. The biddiyng is not on Jimmy, it's on his Bird Rights. That's what will give a team the edge in signing him in the offseason. Even if that team is us in a sign and trade.

It sounds like some people don't think Jimmy would be worth a max contract. That is ridiculous. Any top30 player in the league is worth a max contract.

I think everyone would rather give Jimmy a 4-year max with 5% raises rather than a 5-year max with 8% raises. It's a pretty big deal for a guy that'll be old and have accumulated a ton of injuries by the end.

Just force jimmy butler to play. If he refuses to pay. Dock him money. Tired of Butler’s demands.

If Butler refuses to play, he WILL NOT enter the free agency. It's in the current CBA. Players think they have more leverage than they actually do, especially in the last year of their contracts. This is why as a Raptors fan I wasn't worried at all about Kawhi Leonard refusing to show up to play. It's in his best interest to do so.

11.3 Withholding Services.
A player who withholds playing services called for by a Player Contract for more than thirty (30) days after the start of the last Season covered by his Player Contract shall be deemed not to have “complet[ed] his Player Contract by rendering the playing services called for thereunder.” Accordingly, such a player shall not be a Veteran Free Agent and shall not be entitled to negotiate or sign a Player Contract with any other professional basketball team unless and until the Team for which the player last played expressly agrees otherwise.

Old news, I tweeted it earlier. They rejected it quickly obviously. Taylor & Wolves should just hang up the phones before they embarrass themselves.

Would be hilarious to see it come to that

Taking on Whiteside is suffering longer than this year.
Twolves are better off keeping Butler all year and letting him walk then taking on your Heats negative assets.

Not sure why this is difficult for you to understand.

Miami will need to get Butler next year in FA if you don’t put Richardson in the deal thus year. Twolves are not interest in your god awful scraps.

Contracts are a two way street and players need to honor their commitments. There is no question that franchises are required to honor contracts, so I see it as perfectly legitimate that players be expected to do the same. At this point, I think giving in and accepting a terrible trade deal would be worse than the current situation.

I think the reason we're seeing all these one sided tweets or sources from the media is because they're all from the opposing teams and/or Butler's camp. Since Thibs and Layden has been tight lipped ever since they came on board and there has been few leaks ever since from our front office.

Anyways, Butler a great player and all the talent in the world. But what a punk and a sucky attitude, you really can't buy class.
Glad I never got attached to him on his time here. (Never was really high in my favorite players who played for Minnesota)

Is a bad trade because it's not fair value for a player of his talent or it's because the returned players cant help? And no one said who he Heat offered. It's only been reported who they are not willing to offer.

I do not see how it helps the Wolves forcing him to play. Going to practice and games not engaged. As a fan is that something you want to see?

Value of(expiring contract + option of trading butler in future - reputation risk) > value offered

Butler seem a like a diva so reputations risk seems minimal. Look at what happened to Lenord... he went from a very likable player to... now.

There could be teams that get off to a slow start that suddenly feel like they want to get a top 10 player... This happens every almost every season...

Why take on a whiteside when you have an expiring?

It's a win compared to having Whiteside, Waiters, or Johnson on our team.
