Walls big season in 2016-2017 was an outlier, he’s probably somewhere between his 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. Production

Then why is Kawhi ranked so high? That list isn't based on last years production. It based on what experts believe will happen this year.

Clearly theres a connection among haters like yourself and those that dont watch Wall closely that view Wall solely based on his struggles early on last season and view those struggles as the trend going forward as opposed to an injured player who pushed to play despite being limited.

He clearly was a totally different player when he came back from injury despite being less than 100%. The version of Wall I saw at the end of last season is clearly a top 15 player and one of the 5 best players in the East altogether.

So, let me get this right - If you don't think Wall is a top 15 - you are a hater? Damn.

Not saying that Wall shouldn't be in the subjective top 15 category but... here are the 15 players I would take over John for the upcoming season:

Al Horford
Anthony Davis
Clint Capela
Damian Lillard
Draymond Green
Giannis Antetokounmpo
James Harden
Jayson Tatum
Karl-Anthony Towns
Kevin Durant
LeBron James
Nikola Jokic
Paul George
Russell Westbrook
Steven Adams
Victor Oladipo

Guess I am a hater...

I would add Chris Paul but take away the bigs. So we continue to get on John for D but Jokic and Kat are not exactly Bill Russell, while Capela is a great fit for the Rockets' system. I like Adams but wouldn't have him any top 15.

I don’t remember saying the list was based solely on 2017-2018 lol. I feel like the most recent nba season should have something to do with where you rank them.

Of course, with Wall, none of his bad games count because he’s injured. Kawhi didn’t even play, how can you knock him for that?

Just awful logic here

I mean, just point guards better than Wall:

1. Cp3
2. Harden
3. Curry
4. Westbrook
5. Kyrie
6. Lillard
7. Lowry
8. Bledsoe
9. Kemba

I can make a legit argument for Tyus Jones, but I won’t because of Wall fanboys.

I love Tatum but no. Not yet. Not when he's just entering his 2nd season and he's competing with loaded starting 5 for shots.

George, ehh its debatable. Last season yes but I think he's slightly overrated albeit very good.

Chris Paul not on this list is a joke.

LOL. I didn't even put Tyus Jones on the list and you get triggered. How can you not see how much of a fanboy you are?

Eric Bledsoe averaged 20.4 points 5.7 assists and 4.4 rebounds 2.3 steals per 36 with a .582 TS% he was 41st in RPM in the entire NBA. 12th for point guards (above Wall of course) He has literally posted a higher TS% than Wall for 5 consecutive seasons.

Bledsoe has ranked higher than Wall in DRPM every single season in which DRPM has been recorded (even back when Wall was good at defense which was 2014-2015)

Chris Paul? Ben Simmons? Kyrie Irving? Klay Thompson? Kawhi Leonard? Steph Curry? Jimmy Butler? Gordon Hayward?

Wall should probably be ranked around the 20-25 range. thats not hating at all whatsoever. We're talking about a player with ONE season of >.520 TS%, a guy that stopped playing defense 3 years ago. coming off one of the worst seasons of his career.

Why do we have these stupid "Wall NBA ranking" arguments every year when Otto Porter is by far the best player on the wizards. Atleast ESPN somewhat respected him this year at 38th overall.

Tatum passed Wall for me last season - as a rookie. Paul, I didn't include on MY list because I don't think he survives another season healthy. But you are right - he is ahead of Wall as well... I guess that makes me a joke and a hater :D

fan or fanatic (n.) A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause as for Wall being a top 15 player... okay - I am going to stop now. I like Dat too much for this - sorry.

You would be hard pressed to find 15 or even 5 guys that have average 26 & 11 the past 20 playoff games as Wall has. But okay tell me again how guys who fail to show up when games matter the most are so much better.

I can make a legit argument for Tyus Jones, but I won’t because of Wall fanboys.

Hard to argue Bledsoe. He wasn't very good for Milwaukee this year and his defense has slipped quite a bit. If you rank Wall's best 5 seasons against Bledsoe's best 5 seasons (ranking by WS/48 or VORP), Wall beats Bledsoe every season. That is, Wall's best year is better than Bledsoe's best, Wall's 2nd best is better than Bledsoe's second best, and so on. Wall has also been more durable. (Obviously, Bledsoe was better last season because Wall was awful last season.)

Kemba is debatable. Careerwise, Wall has probably been a bit better than Kemba, but over the past 3 years, Kemba has been better, which is good reason to assume Kemba will be better going forward. That said, Wall has proven to be a pretty good playoff performer, actually playing a bit better in the playoffs. Kemba has barely played in the playoffs and when he has, it hasn't been very good.

It's hard to disagree much with the rest of those names though. You can argue Kyrie on durability issues, but I'd definitely rather have him in a must win playoff game.
