I'm sorry but Rambis is trash, he was a horrible coach and i don't exactly see how he'd be a good basketball adviser either.

They do know we don't have to go for all the former lakers right?

Don't have the slightest idea why this was necessary, (unless this is Magic picking his eventual replacement?!) but I always liked Rambis and it seems right that he's back with the Lakers...

Hey, we've hired Luke, B shaw, Mad Dog, and Magic. One more Laker on the team can't hurt.

I really like Rambis, and I think it's great that we once again show what a 'family' the Lakers are. All good things.

But I agree with Spens that Rambis was complete trash as a coach. Very outdated. Much like Scott...but even worse. So one has to wonder how it's gonna go as a front office 'mind'.

But I will say this: Steve Kerr was a dumpster-fire of a GM, but seems to be quite the coach. Magic was a pretty crap Coach, and seems so far to be good at this front-office stuff. So maybe Rambis will be one of those guys?

Rambis may not be the greatest head coach but he’s without doubt a hyper intelligent basketball mind who’s been a part of 8 Lakers championships.

Clark Kent!

To say Rambis is trash is to admit you’ve never heard the man speak. He happens to be one of the best interviewees in sports, and is a total class act.

Rambis is obviously also a great knowledge resource to add, with decades of experience at the highest level. Thrilled to see him back. Rambis will also bring Luke insights into Phil’s philosophies from a coaching perspective.

Welcome back!
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Bronny
SG: Smart / Reaves / Knecht / Mañon
SF: LaRavia / Rui / Thiero
PF: Bron / Vando / Kleber
C: Ayton / Hayes / Koloko

He's a trash coach and senior basketball advisor would require a similarish mindset. We're not talking about a GM, we're talking about someone advising on the on the court product which means Walton's coaching, something Rambis is absolutely horrid at.

Also we don't need to revisit the triangle offense, its done, it was great but its done.

I have to agree with this ^^^ on the other hand Rambis was trash as a coach, but excelled as Phil's assistant coach. we'll see how he does now.

I vaguely remember some friction way back with Kurt and Luke... Or am I dreaming?

I've said for a while that I wasn't convinced Magic was a Luke Walton fan... I wonder what Kurt's job will be exactly? What part of "Basketball" will he advise on? Could it be the coaching side?

Meh. I'd be a lot more worried if Magic hired Byron as an adviser.
