Bernman wrote:Man, Pico is a savage. One of the most powerful strikers in MMA p4p. That wasn't a good match-up for Higo considering the size difference. That magnified the power difference. Higo had his moments. Pico's striking defense is a little sleepy and he hangs in there too long sometimes out of machismo or confidence in his ability to put you down. But I could see it costing him again some time down the line like v. Freeman, when he's facing bigger guys like he was, who throws straights and get in and out. I don't think he could handle Pitbull or Curran now. Needs some more development, as sexy as his win styles are right now.
Did you mean Pitbull AND Curran? As in, both those guys vs Pico?

I'm kidding, btw. But I'd favor Pico over Curran. Pitbull...idk.

Of course, and not tag team either, both in the same cage against him, otherwise it wouldn't be fair.

I thought Curran looked as good as ever in his last fight against Macapa. And he's roughly on the same level as Pitbull. He loves to counter and has power. Pico loves to come forward and slug. He's hittable as long as the fight lasts. Curran has good defense. I think Curran would win until Pico shores up his defense. He should face that next tier of guys, i.e.: Corrales.

I didn't see his last fight so I'll STFU.

People talked **** about the Strikeforce HW tournament and the Bellator HW tournament but this WW tournament is legit as ****.

They've got a legit shot to catch the UFC if they continue to step up the production value and put on great cards like this one (minus Wand/Rampage).

Lima settles for negative/negative positions along the fence and ground when he should separate when he has a chance and strike at distance where he has the advantage against anybody. Tactically he's not a smart fighter.

This is a really scared gameplan, but Lima is surrendering to it too easily at times. Still clearly won that round. First round I'd say was a draw. Next to nothing happened.

Lima is absolutely owning this from distance with his straight feints to straight rights, lead left hooks, setting up the leg and body kicks; like he almost always does. Just frustrating when he accepts the clinch. If he didn't do that against Rory he would have won on the scorecards.

Lima with the slick sprawl to reversal, wrestling ride to gnp, jumps to the back, slaps the hooks in, while simultaneously sinking the arm under the neck and cinching it! Reminds us he's got ground chops too. From a damage/pain perspective, the best fighter in the world at ww. If he can be tactically decent he can claim that spot officially.

Ok, already want this fight to be over and it hasn't even started yet.

They need to nail WAND's entrance if they're gunna make him fight.

That was fun. Let Wand recover for a few minutes and let's do another couple of rounds.

Gegard has snapped Rory's head back a few times already with his jab...to no comment from John or Mauro.

Mousasi is a bad MFer. That was not a competitive fight at all. Rory is top 3-4 WW on Earth so that tells you what you need to know about Gegard I guess.
