Talk about hyperbole - you could have just said its the Chinese league and people would get it, saying that the Beijing Ducks might be worse than a highschool team makes you look really dumb.

Not trying to call you dumb personally, but even as a joke/hyperbole the way it's phrased makes it seem like you think that Ducks = HS team might be true lol.

i seriously think they are on the same level as top HS teams.Chinese teams have restrictions on foreign palyers that prevent them from being very good. They can spend big money on 2 foreign players but the rest of their teams are filled with chinese players who arent really good to say the least

I never minded the hype around Doncic, because I knew he would deliver.

However, the problem with mega hype is that it attracts two types of people: guys who claim he would be GOAT before his first NBA game (like the OP) and haters/contrarians who claim he's a bust and never should have come to NBA (like SlovenianDragon and all the posters who compare him to Turkoglu and Schrempf).

You have a situation like EVERY time when a mega hype is created, no exceptions.

Doncic has the all round offensive game to absolutely run away with ROY. Issue is going to be how many minutes he can stay out there for as he adjusts to the NBA.

He's going to be far and away the best guy from this draft class.

No Kidding. I think Doncic could have been really good for the Kings, but it is not like he scored 70 points today. Relax people.

I think Bagley can be a really good player as well.

I dont like Bagley, but he probably would have been dominant if he played these Ducks. i get that you western guys got excited seeing Doncic go coast to coast, pass, rebound block shots for the first time, but can we slow down with all time great comparisons.

DSJ?? You put your best players on the floor. You can never have enough ball handlers and creators on the court.

They would annihilate any high school team, and if you think otherwise, you have huge problems. There are Chinese national team members on that team, and a former NBA pro, and you are saying a team full of 14-15-16 year old would be better. On the other hand it's good that you are making statements like this, because you make it very easy to put a value on your other opinions as well, so I guess in the end you are helpful.

Uhhh yea

Unless Bagley plays the Beijing whatever the hells first and flops, I’d wait it out a bit

Doncic looks great for them but how much greater than Bogdan already is for us Idk

I expect Doncic to be a better player down the road, but Bogdan is awesome. I honestly think he has All-Star potential, I just fear he won't get enough touches next to players like Fox or Bagley. But then again, he is also an excellent passer and pick & roll option, so maybe he can have a point forward role for you.

It's not just that, but also the fact that he is a Euro. Lots of American fans hate European players. I'm not saying this is racism or xenophobia, please no one misunderstand me, it's more of a "we don't want him to succeed because this is our sport" kind of thing. The NBA is an American league, at least to them.

Maybe with some of the haters, but for example you can observe similar with Simmons, Lonzo,...

You mean hated players like Giannis, Simmons?

Even going way back, players like Pau, Manu, Peja, Big Z and Kirilenko etc. were big amongst Americans.

If the hype is warranted US fans will root for euros.

If they are being shoved down peoples throats early on like Rubio or Darko then they will get a lot of hate.

Pretty obvious Doncic is way better than Larry Bird

Bird said that he didn’t know he was going to be a superstar at 18. “There’s no way I could come out at 18, 19 and go pro,” Bird said.

I have only seen one person on real gm, who has that hate internationals mentality, and tries to talk down competitions like Euroleague every time he gets the chance, even tho obviously he is absolutely ignorant on the subject.
But a lot of times, international players are actually fan favorites. Like Dirk and Manu are two of the most beloved players ever.

Giannis and Simmons are not Europeans. I'm been here for a while now, and Pau was hated by a lot of fans, and constantly called a p****y and soft here at RealGm, and the same goes for Dirk. For the German, it was really only 2011 that changed his perception. Kirilenko or Manu were never really popular among casual fans, and they've also been criticized a lot here. Are you saying Doncic does not warrant the hype, like Rubio or Darko? He won everything in Europe and was literally the best player. Why would't he warrant the hype? I don't get it.
