The poll should be, "short of losing James, what grade do you give their offseason?"
Nothing you can do when the player had no interest in staying.

Losing the GOAT takes the A grade of drafting Sexton and signing Love down to C.
F grades dominating this poll are the reason why players like Tristan Thompson feel disrespected.
This is a team sport and yes Lebron is a huge loss, but the rest of the roster are not so called scrubs
and will prove it as such this season out of the gate.
But the haters keep on thinking this team is trash.

I'd give them a B+ for drafting Sexton and a C for signing Love long term. Love deserves better than the scraps left on this team. Loosing the greatest to play since MJ or Kobe gives you an automatic F. They didn't even really try to keep him.

they didn't try to keep him? it wasn't like they had the ability to do more than they did as far as roster movement than the quick rebuild at the dl last season. They knew there was a strong chance so they went on as if he was gone anyway and are better for it.

Is that a joke? Nice draft pick up I guess... all the rest is an F-.

What they did as an org was not bad at all given the $ they invested in the team for 4 years, but by Lebron Leaving you could suggest the result of that alone kills their decent offseason of drafting Sexton and getting Love to sign long term.
I think the grade is a B for what the Cavs are left with in the wake of Lebrons departure not an F. This isn't the team he left when he bolted for SB, it's got good young players and moveable assets in the form of Hill and Smith with low partial guarantees for 19-20.

They refused to include the draft pick that became Sexton in any trade deals, which effectively shut down their ability to trade for George or a better player. What message does it send LeBron when you are holding onto draft picks? It tells him that you are planning on a future without him instead of using all your assets to win-now. (Firing Griffin to save money is another example)
The team made choices and now have to live with the consequences, and one of those consequences is getting an F for letting the best player on the planet walk and not making little effort to keep him.

I will say this - now that the Cavs will be a 20-30 win team, Love will look far better as he did in Minnesota. Opposing teams don't play aggressive defense against horrible teams so its a great situation for Love.

There wasn't anyone available that that pick could have gotten that would have changed Lebron's mind.

I would bet if Lue overplays vets that could be the result...but if he uses his roster to it's fullest no way Cavs don't at minimum fight for the 8th seed.

I think a B grade is pretty reasonable. Especially when Rodney Hood gets his chance to shoot more. Locking up Love is a huge plus as well, Cedi improving his shot, and getting Sexton was huge too as you mentioned.
We had an idea there was a good chance LeBron would go to Lake Show a year+ ago too. I really think we will take the Raptors by surprise on opening tip.
