Attending Miami Heat home game

Post#1 » by Flyaer » Mon Oct 1, 2018 11:24 am

Hi,

Long-time reader / first time poster from Slovenia. Due to cheap airline tickets (250$ return) we (friends I play basketball with) decided to visit Miami in March 2019 to see the game between Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks (where another of our countryman Luka Doncic plays). We are now looking to purchase tickets for the game and would appreciate your help:
-If looking to spend around 60-80$ is it better to purchase good upper level or corner lower level tickets?
-Is it possible to go early into arena and see the shot-out from near-by if you have upper level tickets (or even with corner lower level ticket)?

Any other advice what we need to be careful about (tickets, Miami in general,...)?

Thanks for all advice and looking forward to visit Miami

I think the Arena opens about an hour before tipoff. The teams go out for a shoot around before they are introduced. I don't know if they'll let you go down to the lower level if you have upper level tickets. It might depend on the usher. If you just tell them that you only want to see the shoot around the go back up they may let you go. Sometimes they don't even ask lol. I'm usually in my normal seat by then, but I don't like wandering around. Makes me nervous that I'll be late for something lol...

I usually try to sit in the middle of the 300 section. Tickets are cheaper than lower level and it looks just like on TV. I'm sure if you get them on stub hub closer to the game time they will be cheaper especially since it is a weekday game.

Also for parking I usually go to the Holiday Inn hotel down the street from the arena. It's cheaper and easier to get to the highway and not a long walk.

I'm actually a season ticket holder in the corner lower bowl. I use to sit in upper level but moved down last year. I really recommend going lower level, it's a completely different atmosphere.

As far as tickets (coming from someone who resells a lot) you either buy now, or wait until the last minute when reseller start to get desperate that their tickets haven't sold and lower the price drastically. When news happen (Jimmy Butler trade, Dwyane Wade last season) we tend to bring up the prices. Looking at the market currently you can find lower bowl seats for what they cost season ticket holder -- I pay $52 per seat per game for row 30 in the corner of the lower bowl so after accounting for NBATickets.com fee if you pay 60 bucks per ticket you're getting a good deal and probably won't find anything better until a few hours before the game starts.

Thx for all the info! @ifrosty13 - are you selling your tickets ;) ?

One more question - which place nearby the arena would you recommend for a before game beer for a large group (100+) of Miami Heat (ok, honestly, Goran Dragic) fans - Hard Rock Cafe or anything else?

Hooters is my spot for before/after games. Always gets a nice crowd for games. I've actually already sold that game, sorry.
