The funny thing is, people that like Payton have pm'd me over the summer saying how ridiculous some of the comments are here, which for the most part (besides the occasional crazy statement) have been statements like "Payton isn't as bad as you guys say he is, he can be helpful to the Pelicans." Like... people get mad at that.

Meanwhile, read the Sixers gamethread and quite a few posters are still arguing FOR the use of Vucevic as a top option for the 6th straight year and trying to sell him as efficient when every efficiency stat proves otherwise.

He isn't. But after Fournier, who is a better option?

The forward position in the Eastern Conference has a void with LeBron James in the West, and Gordon finally has a coach in Steve Clifford who brings stability to the organization, giving him a chance to earn a $500,000 bonus by making his first All-Star team.

Gordon's two additional potential bonuses that would be added to his $21.6 million salary: All-NBA and All-Defense nods.

I think it’s unlikely AG or anyone on this team makes the all star game barring shocking team success. Sure Lebron left.. but Kawhi also came east

Anyway, Patrick McCaw. What do you guys think? Pretty long guy that can shoot. Should be a better option than guys like Iwundu and Frazier.

I think Ben Simmons makes the allstar team before Gordon. You don't make the allstar team playing defense, IMO.

I wouldn’t be opposed to McCaw on a decent deal if it means we can get something for Simmons or Ross.

I like Ross a lot more than Simmons. I know a lot of people disagree with me but I really don't like Simmons' game.

Both have been underwhelming in Orlando. However, I agree that there isn’t much to like about Simmons game.

Simmons annoys me a lot. I told people back then that he’d be Jeff Green-ish and got a lot of heat for it. I still think he is. He just puts his head down and doesnt create for his teammates. He has a knack for getting to the hole though which is what we need.

Both are useless when they have off nights though. Which is like 50-50. Lol

However for entertainment purposes, I prefer Ross. Ross just amazes me when i see him with those reflexes. The guy is simply elastic and really has quick reflexes. And the occassional fastbreak dunks.

To be fair, he did have a knee injury. Also if people can shush his good play there, it makes no sense to point at the bad play around that time when previously those people were predicting he would play good at the end of the year when it didn't matter. When he sucked/got hurt it was "see, that's who he is!" even though they were anticipating the end of year good play. It goes against their own argument.

It's almost as if he evens out into a completely average point guard/low-end starter/great backup, but the detractors won't let that die for some reason until everybody gets on board with him being completely awful or playing in China or something.

I’m not an Elfrid fan at all, glad he’s gone but wish him well. What will be interesting is if he improves the second half of the year going into the playoffs. We might see a different Elfrid due to the intensity of the game. That’s the only positive thing I can think of. Maybe there is a playoff Elfrid lurking.

If he just chills and lets the game come to him he can make it happen. It’s when he forces things and starts trying to be a fancy ball handler at the top of the key that everything breaks down.

I think he could pull this off this year. It is definitely a key storyline for us.

He is clearly better this year. He played a more mature game so it will be interesting to see.

He just needs to shoot the ball consistently. This is just a pre-season game but it’s what we all wanted to see from him. He’s a nice player if he can just bring some consistency.

Hopefully we get an update on Isaac's ankle today. Best case scenario, he just rolled his ankle and they sit him out 1-2 weeks and make sure he's ready for the season opener. Worst case scenario, this is a 4-6 week recovery time for a moderate sprain. I can't imagine there's significant ligament injury given he was bearing weight and walked off on his own. However, he was initially only supposed to be our 4-6 weeks last season for an ankle sprain, and then they had to send him to rehab and PT for after almost 2 months of being out. It's a brand new training staff this year; hopefully they're just being cautious.

THIS how bad is it though? Some ankle sprain takes only a few days and everything is back 100%.

As opposed to the HOF people say he...oh wait nobody thinks that. In your attempt to insult I think you accidently made an accurate comparison. What's wrong with a Seikaly with 3pt shot and passing?
Wait... Are you even, old enough to have watched Seikaly play?

Seiklaly was a damn good player, during that 90's era. Second tier center during that era, but very solid.

Yeah He was. Now that I think about it Shaq to Rony is very similar to Dwight to Vuc.

No way! Seikaly has nicer hair, was physical and played defense. Vuc is soft, doesn’t play a lick of defense. Only similarities is both were pouters.
