I'd love it. My money would be on Riley in disc golf.

Regardless the game I envision Thibs and Riley playing any game going essentially the same. Theres 5 phases to it:

Stage one, friendly and normal.
Monopoly - Riley and thibs dont fight over who gets to be the car.
Connect 4 - they agree to flip a coin to go first
Mortal Kombat - No hidden chars

Stage two, initial signs of conflict
monopoly - both demand to be the banker
Connect 4 - both demand to be able to call the flip
Mortal Kombat - Both demand to be sub zero

Stage three, attempt to get it back on the rails
monopoly - Riley concedes banker duties but demands money tray be put across from thibs and he gets to dispense the money to him. He also gets to shuffle and distribute chance and community chest, but Thibs gets to go first.
Connect 4 - Riley concedes the coin flip to Thibs but demands to be the black checkers.
Mortal Kombat - Riley concedes sub zero to Thibs and instead goes with Liu Kang

Stage four, the beginning of the end
monopoly - Thibs is playing great, collecting properties and holding his own. But for some reason every damn chance and community chest card screw him hard and Riley just keeps getting richer.
Connect 4 - Riley wins flip, puts checker on far end and Thibs quickly drops one in the center, Riley keeps building on top of thibs for some reason but blocks him just in time...Thibs seems to have him on the run.
Mortal Kombat - Riley comes forward towards Thibs and he started spamming ice at him until Riley backs off all the way and eats an ice, Thibs moves in for the uppercut.

Stage Five, reality hits
Monopoly - Riley pulls an advance directly to boardwalk and completes his monopoly, immediately builds hotels and waits for Thibs soul. Thibs eventually lands on boardwalk and can barely eat it, then somehow pulls an advance to boardwalk card again and goes out. He flips out and sweeps his arm across the board and stomps out of the room.
Connect 4 - Thibs is moving in on the kill when suddenly Riley drops a checker in and says connect 4, gg. Thibs looks at it and realizes he didnt see the back door connect 4 Riley set him up for on his first move. Thibs kicks the connect 4 over and checkers go overwhere, he stomps out of the room.
Mortal Kombat - as Thibs moves from the other side of the screen Riley unfreezes right before he gets there and unleashes the most relentless flurry of fireballs, flying kicks, and the occasional bicycle kick for the sound effect. Thibs yells "THATS CHEATING! THATS CHEAP!" To which Riley makes direct eye contact with him and stares at him while pulling off a fatality. Riley turns and looks at the screen and Thibs follows his lead just in time to see Liu Kang turn into an effin dragon and bite Thibs in half. Thibs literally smashes the TV and jumps out the window.

Fun fact: I was at Melo's last visit to Target Center in a Nuggets uniform, just 16 days and 6-7 games before the trade happened. To this day, it's still my only time at a Timberwolves game.

Do you guys have other lives? Jesus, I leave for 12 hours and I have to sift through 25 pages just to catch up. Can someone start a thread on rumored trades? This is getting ridiculous

If Thibs might be gone soon(like after the season) why doesn't Glen Taylor fire Thibs from POBO and hire a new guy who's vision aligns with his more and just leave Thibs as the coach? Why would you let a coach/POBO make such a big decision if they're not part of the future and they may even know that?

I dont think we have a lot of moves to make and I imagine Taylor will not allow to make any kind of significant move. Hes been neutered IMO.

Probably but if he doesn't trust the FO, just hire a new POBO to take charge, it seems pretty simple. It's cheaper then just flat out removing everyone.

I think this is a throwaway year, I think we just try to ride through it.

It probably doesn't get any better next year, there's not going to be enough cap space to add anyone who will make a big difference.

But eating just one year of Thibs salary becomes palatable to Taylor so we get a new coach, which is an upgrade with more impact than more individual players imo.

Better hope so, if you give Towns his 3rd HC in his first 5 years and you miss the next 2-4 playoffs, he may want out. The life of a small market team is tough.

Butler. If his repaired hand is 100%, he will cave & play his first preseason game on Friday.

People try to devalue Jimmy saying he’s 29, and they are worried about his age when he signs his next max contract.

The truth is, Jimmy has a lot of tread left on his tires. He’s only played 15,044 minutes, because of four years in college, and he started 1.5 seasons playing limited minutes on the bench.

By comparison with other 29 year olds, James Harden has played 23,239, and DeMar Derozan 22,986.

I think the main concern people have with Jimmy's age is that he seems to miss around 15-20 games a year already.

That's gonna be one really awkward game for Butler, Town, Thibs and especially Wiggins.

Exactly.

It's not like his injury issues are going to improve with age so paying him 40mil when he's 34 looks like a potentially cap crippling move.
